high quality italian food at lo stivale d’oro Amsterdam
Lo Stivale d’Oro Amsterdam (translates to the golden boot) is hidden between the Rembrandt- and Waterloo Square. You would easily miss this tiny restaurant if we hadn’t told you that you can get a great meal here. And it’s not expensive at all!
Lo Stivale d’Oro is certainly not the newest hotspot in the city centre. But, the food is so good that we can’t leave it out on yourlbb. Instead of shiny copper lamps and beautifully garnished plates you’ll simply get what you pay for at Lo Stivale d’Oro. A lovely bistecca that you can cook to your taste on a small grill plate on the table. A fresh plate of pasta with creamy salmon sauce, or my favourite: Pizza Eric (with rucola and Italian ham). Named after a client!
The Italian owner Mario (yep, that’s really his name) laughs a lot. Together with his wife Lucia he tells about their youth in Italy. Mario and Lucia are the living Italian stereotypes. If you’re lucky they will grab a glass of wine and share the stories of their soccer playing grandson and their “diet” that exists of pasta and only pasta. You go to Lo Stivale d’Oro Amsterdam if you’re into good food, a sincere vibe and good prices. I am a big fan!
