this UK natural fast food chain is finally open in Holland!
Als je net als ik regelmatig in Londen komt dan heb je vast wel eens van LEON gehoord. Misschien ken je het merk wel van de vrolijk gekleurde kookboeken die je wel eens hebt zien liggen bij de boekhandel! Als ik in East Londen ben en ga shoppen bij Old Spitalfields Market ga ik altijd even wat eten of een koffie to go halen bij deze naturally fast food shop. In de UK hebben ze al 50 zaken en in Nederland kun je sinds kort op Schiphol en in Utrecht op Hoog Catharijne ook bij LEON gaan lunchen of ‘s avonds een hapje eten.
Zelf vind ik de missie van de mannen achter dit concept wel mooi. Ze willen het namelijk voor iedereen mogelijk maken om goed te eten en goed te leven. Het menu van LEON is gebaseerd op mediterrane ingrediënten, maar samengesteld met lokale producten. Over de formule van LEON zijn ze ook heel transparant. Als het mogelijk is wordt er gewerkt met biologische ingrediënten, mits het daardoor betaalbaar blijft voor iedereen. In ieder geval spelen groenten de hoofdrol in de gerechten, worden deze zoveel mogelijk lokaal gesourced en wordt er zo min mogelijk zout en suiker toegevoegd.
GOED OM TE WETEN: heb je een glutenallergie, eet je alleen zuivelvrij of ben je veganist dan heeft LEON ook voor jou opties op de kaart staan.
Mijn aanraders van het huidige menu bij LEON? De wafelfrietjes wil je niet missen en bestel er zeker een huisgemaakte limonade bij. En had ik al verteld dat de koffie er organic is. Ook fijn!
