After just a few hours in Tallinn, we're already in love with this medieval city! Leib Resto Ja Aed Tallinn is our first restaurant hotspot during our weekend getaway. And I'm so glad we made a reservation! Because it's summer, you enter Leib Resto Ja Aed Tallinn through the gate. What a surprise to find yourself in a beautiful courtyard garden with tables on the grass, where you can dine al fresco. Super romantic! We had a lovely meal on the balcony overlooking the garden. The patio heaters make it nice and warm, as it cools down a bit in the evenings towards the end of summer. Luckily, at Leib Resto Ja Aed Tallinn, they have warm sheepskins on the chairs and blankets for those who want them—nice and cozy. We're feeling romantic, so we start the evening with a glass of champagne to celebrate our mini-vacation. As you know, my life motto is "The best time to celebrate is whenever you can"!

The menu at Leib Resto ja Aed Tallinn is delicious and consists mainly of dishes made with local ingredients fresh from the Estonian countryside. I love these kinds of "farm to table" concepts; they're deliciously pure and rustic (in a good way!!). I decide to indulge my part-time carnivore once again and order the steak tartare, finely cut from local beef. So delicious! As night falls, Leib Resto ja Aed Tallinn becomes even more beautiful. The garden with all the candles transforms into a fairytale! We enjoy the main course by candlelight; the pike-perch is delicious. Leib Resto ja Aed Tallinn attracts a nice mix of people: couples, a table of 12 yuppies from Tallinn our age (or are they Finns?), and baby boomers. As true cheese lovers, my boyfriend and I share an Estonian cheese board and enjoy a dessert wine with blueberries. After a delicious dinner at Leib Resto ja Aed Tallinn, we headed into the Old Town for drinks. More about Tallinn's bars in the next blog posts :-).
