Le Smash, Amsterdam: mega tasty burger hotspot in De Pijp
As far as we're concerned, there's nothing better than a good burger. And the creators of Le Smash Amsterdam wholeheartedly agree. They thought it was high time to bring the Smashburger to Amsterdam (although they're not the first) and introduce the Amsterdam De Pijp neighborhood to this American specialty.

The Smash
Let's start at the beginning, because what exactly is a smashburger? A smashburger isn't a "normal" hamburger, but one that's wafer-thin, crispy on the outside, and juicy on the inside. The perfect burger, you could say. The preparation is as special as the flavor: a mound of ground beef is placed on a scorching hot plate and immediately flattened. This leads to a "Maillard reaction," which gives it its characteristic flavor and texture.
At Le Smash Amsterdam, they master this burger preparation to perfection. The burgers are wafer-thin and a thousand times more flavorful than a burger at your average fast-food chain. Owners Bram and Graeme are no strangers to the hospitality industry. Bram opened their restaurant in 2015. Smashing Burgers Graeme and I worked at several Michelin-starred restaurants. After a year of collaboration, they decided to join forces at Le Smash.

Menu Le Smash Amsterdam
Le Smash Amsterdam's menu is simple but effective; you could say they never change a winning team. There are four burger options: classic and special for meat eaters, and the same "beyond meat" versions for vegetarians. Both meat burgers are made with dry-aged beef and are topped with cheddar, onions, pickles, ketchup, and mustard. The special comes with a special sauce and, if desired, bacon as an extra. Don't expect any frills for the sides either: they stick to homemade fries (optionally with cheese) and coleslaw.
From Thursday to Sunday the store is open from 12 noon until late, take-away is also possible.

First of all: thank you for being here to close out 2025 <3.
2025, you were everything I hoped you would be and more. So many new memories.
I don't yet know what 2026 will bring, but last year was one for the books. Highlights included trips to China, Mexico City, Egypt, and exploring the English countryside.
Entrepreneurs probably recognize that 2025 was not an easy year.
When I started Your Little Black Book, I had one dream: not to work to stay somewhere for free in exchange for content and the pressure of a "picture perfect" experience. But to use my revenue models to book and experience those special places myself, as a guest instead of an influencer, and to give you honest tips.
After almost 15 years of entrepreneurship, I'm so happy with the balance between editorial and commercial work and that I can also say no to things that don't feel right.
At the same time, it's still special that destinations, airlines, and hotels hire me to create a customized Little Black Book for them. I have complete freedom with these campaigns, and I believe in the value of these content-based tips that truly suit your taste. And they come from me personally, not from a machine.

This will always be my dream job, the one I created almost 15 years ago. I still do as much as possible myself. That's energizing—from both successes and failures.
