Le Hollandais Amsterdam: new chef-owner, same French Mediterranean cuisine

At the end of last year, the beloved French restaurant Le Hollandais in Amsterdam closed its doors, but apparently not for long. A new chef and owner is taking over to once again offer many people a wonderful evening that will transport you to the Mediterranean flavors of France. Last week, I received a leaflet announcing their return with takeaway. I'm especially looking forward to sitting down for a leisurely dinner. I live near the Amsteldijk, where the restaurant has been located since the 90s. It's the kind of place we've always said we had to visit, but never got around to it. With the arrival of the new owner and chef, we're sure to change that soon!

The 'new' Le Hollandais on the Amsteldijk

At Le Hollandais in Amsterdam, you'll soon be in the right place for that true bistro experience. The anticipation of dining out again is half the battle! On the Le Hollandais website, I read that Rebwar Abdulkarim, the new chef and owner, is originally from Iraqi Kurdistan and has lived in Amsterdam for twenty years. He gained experience with French cuisine at upscale restaurants, and he's now bringing that knowledge to Le Hollandais. The menu remains classic French: pure, refined, yet bold and with a modern twist.

Le Hollandais is now open for takeaway from Thursday to Sunday, available to order online. From oysters to langoustine and from beef bourguignon to crème brûlée.
