La Isla Escondida, summertime at the backyard of The Mulberry Project
We knew the place from when we walked in to find the “hidden” speakeasy / cocktail bar. We couldn’t stay because it was unbelievably crowded. And that shows just how “hidden” the place was… So far for these secret cocktail bars in New York.
Summer has still not come to an end in New York so go here while you can, because
pop-up bar La Isla Escondida is still hot. And what a fun place to have a simple meal. It’s definitely summertime in this backyard. It’s so cozy-hip that it doesn’t feel like being Little Italy at all.
The walls are decorated with cool art. And that music. It’s summer indeed with these colorful Latin beats.
We’re surrounded by a happy and hip crowd. I will absolutely come back if I’m in the neighborhood. Not for the food, just for the atmosphere and the great cocktails.
In the mood for drinks before or after The Mulberry Project? Almost around the corner lovely neighborhood Nolita starts. You could check out Sweet & Vicious. They’ve also got an outdoor patio where it’s fun to hang out. No cocktails though, just go for beers! Rather go for a place inside? Then Bread, just across the street is a nice option. Yes, or have a look at one of the many other cool places that Nolita has to offer. And don’t even get me started on the shopping possibilities…
