I'll confess something to you... my guilty pleasure is watching Below Deck. It's a dream to one day charter a private yacht with friends and explore the Croatian waters in luxury. During my trip through Croatia, I got a taste of what's to come on a wonderful sailing trip. There are several beautiful areas to explore. If you love nature, the Kornati Islands are a must-see. Do you enjoy alternating your water adventures with charming harbors and beautiful beach clubs? Then the islands, like Hvar, are the perfect place to visit on a cruise.

Go truffle hunting with a guide

Another bucket-list experience in Croatia is truffle hunting with an experienced guide. This is perfectly possible in the Istria region, near Motovun and Buzet. It's a truly special experience that, in my opinion, evokes the same excitement as going on safari. You know it's there, but you don't know if you'll find it or see it. That's why a truffle hunting trip in nature creates such a healthy tension from start to finish, making it a true adventure.

The specially trained dogs and experienced guides know the areas like the back of their hand. Found the white or black gold? Then at the end of most truffle hunts, a delicious lunch or dinner awaits, featuring dishes containing—you guessed it—truffle!

Stay in the most luxurious hotels

From former palaces to luxury beachfront hotels, Croatia boasts many unique accommodations where luxury travelers will instantly feel at home. Besides luxury hotels, Croatia also offers a wide range of beautiful serviced apartments for rent during your vacation. These luxury hotels ensure complete relaxation. Many hotels boast fantastic spa and wellness facilities where you can indulge in all the latest trends in self-care. The Michelin Guide hasn't lost sight of the fact that Croatia offers fantastic food. I once dined at a beautiful restaurant in Šibenik, which has been awarded a Michelin star. Situated in a picturesque square, they serve dishes that showcase the best of local ingredients. What I love about Michelin is that they're increasingly including restaurants in the guide that don't (yet) have stars, but are excellent. Throughout Croatia, you can quickly find a luxury restaurant nearby where you can enjoy a good meal. Croatian cuisine really surprised me during my trip. Mediterranean flavors, yet very unique. All along the Croatian coast, and especially on the islands like Hvar, you'll find luxurious beach clubs where you can spend a wonderful day lazing around and relaxing. Near Dubrovnik, you'll also find chic beach clubs that you shouldn't miss. At these beach clubs, you can enjoy fantastic fish. Lying on your beach lounger after lunch, you'll know: this is what a luxury Croatian holiday feels like. An afternoon here is an experience in itself!
