Cocktails and Fruit de Mer at Kol Reykjavik
Do you love Fruits de Mer? Then you must go to this restaurant Kol in Reykjavik! We discovered this hotspot on the last day of our city trip and it’s high on our favourites list. Kol is at the Skólavördustígur and in the same neighbourhood as a couple of other nice spots. Around the corner you for example have Reykjavik Roasters and C is for Cookie. Have a coffee there in the afternoon, then go shopping and finally end up at Kol!
When you get in, the first thing to notice is their huge bar. Start with a cocktail here! On the menu of Kol in Reykjavik there are craft cocktails as well as regular cocktails. Except they’re all with a twist. And how cool, all juices that they use for the cocktails are freshly made there!
Fruits de Mer X Kol in Reykjavik
Want a bite? If there’s one dish that you must try at Kol in Reykjavik, then it must be the Fruits de Mer! Anne and I shared this as a starter and we just couldn’t stop saying how amazing it was. Delicious mussels, clams, sashimi, salmon, shrimps and lobster. Finger licking good. All so fresh! Served with two fantastic sauces.
Interior X Kol in Reykjavik
But restaurant Kol doesn’t only serve really fresh and delicious fish and meat dishes. This hotspot also looks super cool. It has a tough, robust Scandinavian look. They make use of natural materials like leather and wood. And yet Kol has this really warm and cosy atmosphere. Also don’t forget to check out their wall paintings on the left side of the bar, right when you enter the building!
