Kitchen & Bar Van Rijn Amsterdam: fine dining and cocktails

Hidden gem of Rembrandtplein: Kitchen & Bar Van Rijn Amsterdam

Kitchen & Bar Van Rijn Amsterdam is a very nice, trendy restaurants at Rembrandtplein. Although I must admit I always try to avoid Rembrandtplein (read: too touristy), I therefore also missed this hidden gem! The food here is delicious but Van Rijn is also the perfect place for cocktails. And besides that, the place looks pretty cool. I had an amazing evening here, and I bet you will too.

The chef of Kitchen & Bar Van Rijn asked us if he could surprise us with the Menu du Chef; a changing 5-course dinner with chef’s favourites. I, of course, wanted to try that! Although they also have a very extensive menu here that makes your mouth water. Carpaccio, steak and duck, salmon, lobster and risotto. Many great options, but if you can’t choose, a 5-course dinner is the perfect solution!

Bon apetit X Kitchen & Bar Van Rijn Amsterdam

To celebrate the weekend, we started with a nice glass of cava and some bread. The chef gave us an appetiser of cauliflower and pesto with it. Although I’m guessing not everyone’s a fan of cauliflower, this was surprisingly tasty. A great way to start your dinner!

Then we were served different small dishes such as smoked salmon, pickled in beet. Lobster tartare with marinated cabbage and lotus. And steak with black pudding and romanesco (mini cauliflower). As desert we had vanilla panna cotta, stewed pears, rose petals and dark chocolate. Oh my, all of this was so delicious! Al these special flavours, so soft, so tasteful! You could taste that they only use fresh products of the best quality. And nice to know: they cook with seasonal ingredients as much as possible.

Cocktailtime X Kitchen & Bar Van Rijn Amsterdam

After dinner I fancied a cocktail. Something with vodka. So the bartender made something special with passion fruit, vodka and cava. Sooo yummy! On weekends a DJ plays some music here, so after dinner you have to stay and hang at the bar for a nightcap. Just tell the bartender your favourite flavors, and he will make a cocktail specially made for you!

Can’t wait to have dinner at Kitchen & Bar Van Rijn Amsterdam again and try another 5-course dinner. And do you want to go clubbing after dinner at Van Rijn, then go can go to Club ABE! Or always a nice idea: to the movies at Tuschinski!
