Great news: Jacob Restobar Amsterdam has opened its doors on the Bilderdijkstraat

8 April 2024

At the cosiest corner of Bilderdijkstraat in Amsterdam West, where Dapper used to be located, Jacob Restobar Amsterdam has opened its doors. And that is promising for several reasons.

now open: Jacob Restobar Amsterdam

The building that housed Bar Dapper had been vacant for a while now. The spot was a regular favorite for anyone looking to soak up the Dutch sun on a terrace during spring and summer, offering simple bites, drinks, and craft beers. It was time for something new, and so it happened. Jacob Restobar promises to be a place full of relaxed conviviality. With a large terrace bordering the Jacob van Lennepkade, it will be open every day until one o’clock in the morning.

A place for everyone

From breakfast to dinner and drinks until late in the evening, at Jacob Restobar Amsterdam, you’ll find something for everyone. The owners already share that Jacob will be a versatile meeting, dining, and entertainment spot. Moreover, Jacob is an actual family business, with the Van Breda family at the helm. You may know them from Amsterdam classics like Weber, LUX, and Helmers.

Menu Jacob Restobar Amsterdam

What will be on the menu? We’re still a little in the dark about that, but with former sous chef of Coulisse, Neil Perukel, at the helm, it will revolve around high-quality dishes, focusing on European cuisine. Troppo Giovane will provide the wines in the Jordaan, and the pastries and bread will come from Stadsbakkerij Van As.

The creative minds will develop the menu behind restaurants Europizza and Restaurant Europa, both in Amsterdam North and immensely popular. It’s clear: with Restobar Jacob, Amsterdam got a new hotspot that combines old-fashioned cosiness with quality food and drinks. And we never seem to get enough of that.
