5 x Italian coffee in Amsterdam

28 November 2014

Coffee with friends. I could easily fill my days with that! Especially when it’s starting to get colder outside. People watching while when you’re in a warm and cosy cafe. Last summer I was in Florence in Italy. As you probably know: Italians love coffee! From a cappuccino in the morning to espresso after dinner. And such a great service that they always serve your illly with a glass of water. On a silver plate with one of those delicious Italian coffee cookies. Luckily you can drink coffee like that in Amsterdam too.

At these spots in Amsterdam you can enjoy real Italian coffee:

1) Vondelpark3

Drink your coffee with friends in the Vondelpark at the beautiful and stylish Vondelpark3. In the summer ánd winter a nice location! When it’s a nice day the patio is a great spot to enjoy the sun. Is it cold? Go inside where it’s warm and the interior design is very cool. After your coffee it’s time for a walk in the park!

2) Bouf

If you go to the Concertgebouw sometimes you will already know Bouf at the Van Baerlestraat. It’s the central cafe for a coffee before or after the show. Another hotspot in the same street is concept store “Home Is”. A must visit when you’re close!

4) Cafe de Jaren

Long before I moved to Amsterdam Cafe de Jaren was one of my regulars for a break while shopping in the city center. It’s famous for its patio on the water. The interior design hasn’t changed a bit in all these years. It’s a cosy brasserie for coffee or lunch with the girls. Or choose one of the delicious cakes!

5) Librijes Zusje

Food and drinks at the Waldorf Astoria hotel in Amsterdam is always so festive. A few weeks ago I was there to enjoy their Afternoon Tea! As you may expect from the Waldorf their coffee is also from the best quality. At Librijes Zusje Amsterdam you can enjoy real Italian espresso after an evening of wining and dining. It’s the perfect restaurant in Amsterdam if you have something to celebrate with your love. A unique and culinary experience!

Everyday Italian coffee!

Since I’m a huge coffee lover, I want to drink different coffees for different moments. Just like the Italians. With the new Y5 Milk I feel like a barrista at home! It’s so easy to make a (long) espresso or real latte machiato or cappuccino with fresh milk. Simply use the touchscreen menu! Handy: you can put the milk reservoir back in the fridge after use. The only thing I have to practise is my latte art ;-).
