Iberco ham heaven at Ibericus tapas bar in Amsterdam

Or perhaps I should say this delicatessen in Amsterdam, because you can also just pop in and pick up some delicious Iberian ham to take home! This delicatessen/tapas bar is a great addition to the more traditional food shops on Haarlemmerstraat. I'm happy to cycle there! I love Spanish hams as a snack with a good glass of wine for a relaxing evening at home with a movie. But the best part is actually sitting down at one of the tables at Ibericus itself. This tapas bar in Amsterdam serves a cozy glass of wine in the back of the shop. Make sure you're the one ordering the ham at the counter, because the staff will be happy to let you taste everything and you can tell them exactly what you like. More or less earthy flavor, fatty or not... at this tapas bar in Amsterdam, they have perhaps a hundred different hams on display! I recently went to Ibericus for drinks with friends, highly recommended and a nice change of pace. Once inside, you won't feel like you're in Amsterdam at all; you'll feel like you're in Madrid, mingling with locals on a narrow side street. Ibericus also serves lunch, and they have delicious Spanish cheeses for vegetarians. This Amsterdam tapas bar closes at 19 p.m. Tip: have drinks at Ibericus before going to the movies. The Movies Just down the street. For those unfamiliar with The Movies, this is Amsterdam's best cinema.

If you fancy a Spanish evening and are looking for a tapas bar in Amsterdam that is open until late, then Pata Negra Highly recommended. Pata Negra has several locations in Amsterdam: on Utrechtsestraat (highly recommended) and near Oosterpark in Amsterdam East (especially nice in the summer with its terrace).

PS: the shops in the Haarlemmerbuurt are also nice Jutka and Riska in Ha great adventure and cocktail bar Vesper!
