When the sun was shining so beautifully last weekend, I spontaneously found myself at Van der Helstplein. It's such a lovely square! There are many charming streets in De Pijp, but two of our favorites are undoubtedly the Eerste and Tweede Van der Helststraat. Here you'll find a nice mix of boutiques, restaurants, and cafes. Do you ever go to De Pijp? Then definitely take a stroll from Eerste van der Helststraat to Tweede van der Helststraat, because we've selected 23 X the best hotspots on Van Der Helststraat in Amsterdam.
PS. Curious about what other hotspots can be found in De Pijp? Check The Pipe Guide!

📍 @masmais.taqueria (West)
🌮 Favorite: tuna tostada & sea bass ceviche
Perfect if you love Mexican food with a focus on seafood, great cocktails, and a laid-back cantina vibe. It feels like being in Mexico for a moment, right in Amsterdam West.
📍 @tacos.lasinaloense (Ten Katemarkt & Albert Cuypmarkt)

Street-style tacos the way they're meant to be: handmade tortillas, slow-cooked steaks, and choosing your own spice level.
📍 @madre.amsterdam (Jordaan)
🌮 Favorite: birria quesatacos & tempura mushroom tacos
A plant-based Mexican restaurant that proves just how flavorful vegetarian food can be. Comfort food with a twist, and perfect for sharing.
📍 @bacalar.amsterdam (North)

Come with me to get breakfast in Taipei 🥢
Straight from the airport to this little place to taste soup dumplings and so much more! That's what I call a soft landing 😉 <3
In Taipei, you go to a Soy Milk Shop for breakfast. Warm soy milk to eat in a bowl, and steam baskets with the tastiest dumplings and baozi. You can really wake me up for this kind of breakfast. These local breakfast spots come in all shapes and sizes, from Michelin-recommended spots to hole-in-the-wall stalls.
Most soy milk shops open early (and sometimes even 24 hours a day), and these are the dishes you want to try:
🥄 Warm soy milk
🥢 Soup dumplings (you can often choose between pork and veggies)
🥢 Pork baozi
🥢 Youtiao (油條 - a kind of fried donut stick)
🥢 Youtiao (油條) w/ pork floss & rice
🥢 Turnip cake
🥢 Chives pancake
🥢 Scallion pancake
TIP: Sharing is a good idea to taste as much as possible, because the portions are (often) large.
You'll want to remember these soy milk shops for your future trip to Taipei:
📍Fuhang Soy Milk
📍Soy Milk Shop
📍Yong He Soya Milk King (Da'an)
📍Sihai Soy Milk
I am currently touring Taiwan, and you can also find all the tips in my Stories Highlight.
Have you ever been to Taiwan? I'm curious if you thought it was *that* amazing!

Just back from Catalonia and I thought: I'll share some tips right away.
During our road trip, we stayed two nights in the Ebro Delta. An incredibly fun stop for families and foodies, where there is plenty to do.
• A boat trip to the Musclarium is a must! Here you eat oysters and mussels straight from the farm, in the middle of the sea.
· Admire the flamingos and black ibises that can be found here all year round.
· Rice is grown in the Ebro Delta all year round. For paella, but Kensho also makes sake and miso from it! You can visit them during a tasting.
Cycling along the rice fields, canoeing on the Ebro River, and visiting various beaches. It was still a bit too cold right now, but there is plenty to do.
• The towns are very low-key and not that exciting, but you can find fantastic local food there. From the Michelin-awarded Les Moles* to local eateries like Vermuteria Bonmarisc and Lo Tinglado. We ate a lot of fish, but also anemone fritters (a first!).
Now back to work, and I’m going to create an extensive travel guide of this road trip through Catalonia, but you’ll want to save these tips for a future adventure.

Cozy, casual, and a seasonal menu. This one was on my list to share for a year and finally it's (almost) asparagus season again! 🤤
Another plus? Prices are very reasonable here!

Save this spot for when you're craving warm Dutch traditional dishes in the heart of Amsterdam.

If you were already a fan of the streetwear shop Baskèts, you'll definitely want to pop into Café Baskèts. This coffee spot, created by the shop's owner, feels like a gift to the neighborhood. Enjoy great coffee, grab a fresh pastry to go, or linger a bit longer with a sandwich.
First Van der Helststraat 15, Amsterdam, cafe.baskets-store.com
A fantastic restaurant with enthusiastic service and delicious food. A nice bonus: the menu changes weekly! You won't get bored quickly, and we can confirm that ;).

Dito Deli Amsterdam is a business with a pleasant atmosphere and a cozy feel. The three founders spent a long time developing the corporate identity. The result is impressive: the light yellow and bright blue instantly bring a smile to your face. These colors are carried through to the smallest detail, making the business not only cozy and inviting, but also tasteful and modern.

For years, one of De Pijp's most popular spots for drinks. Pilsvogel is a classic eatery that's been given a fresh new look thanks to a major makeover, both inside and on the spacious terrace. The menu features primarily tapas-style dishes that are easy to share with friends, paired with a good glass of wine or a carafe of sangria.

Of course, we absolutely can't miss Venster 33. Open for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and drinks. And they also have delicious G&Ts on the menu. Plus small dishes that are easy to mix and match!

Café De Groene Vlinder is one of those classic traditional pubs where time seems to stand still, in the best possible way. Located on the corner of the Albert Cuyp Market, it's always pleasantly busy on Friday evenings, with a loyal crowd of locals and regulars. No frills, just a good café where you pop in for a drink and stay for the atmosphere.

At Alberto Pozzetto, you'll find the most delicious Italian delicacies, and locals know this all too well; you'll almost always find people standing outside with a sandwich or espresso in hand. Think cheeses, cured meats, preserves, and fresh antipasti, all straight from Italy. Perfect for a picnic in Sarphatipark or to enjoy at home with a good glass of wine.

First, grab some ice cream at Massimo Gelato and then stroll along to Sarphatipark. Couldn't ask for a better day, could it? Vegan? Lucky you. Massimo also has vegan options. It's no wonder the place is a household name in Amsterdam.

Two Renato's restaurants, opposite each other on Van der Helstplein: the pizzeria for crispy wood-fired pizzas and the osteria for classic Italian dishes in an atmospheric setting. Both establishments are popular in the neighborhood, so reservations are essential. Perfect for an evening of Italian dining the way it should be, with fine wine, fresh ingredients, and that warm feeling you only get at a truly good Italian restaurant.
