Fortunately, there are plenty of places in Amsterdam where you can warm up by the fireplace, so you don’t suffer from the cold. Because what could be more fun than a place with a fireplace to warm you up? How romantic, to just sit back, relax and enjoy a glass of red wine or some hot chocolate with your friends or lover. Enjoying a nice apéritif before dinner is undoubtedly the best by a cosy fireplace. How romantic? That’s how you kick off your date night perfectly!

Another lovely spot to start your date night is at the charming The Dylan. Besides indulging in their luxurious High Wine, it’s also the perfect place to pamper yourself with a good glass of wine by the fireplace.

At De Verboerderij, there’s plenty of fun to be had for young and old. But did you know they also have a cozy fireplace where you can keep warm? During beautiful summer evenings, you might even find an occasional campfire outside.

At Vooges aan ‘t IJ, you’ll savour flavourful and pure dishes. In the summer, you can relax on the terrace while boats pass by. During winter, you can cosy up indoors around the fireplace. Westerdoksdijk 40H, Amsterdam –


SHIRAZ is both a wine bar and wine boutique in one. At this wine bar, the concept focuses mainly on – as expected – wine. There are between 40 and 50 open wines and 150 wines in total (!). Perfect for drinking red wines with your friends or lover at the fireplace.

One of our favourite places in Amsterdam with a fireplace is The Lobby from Hotel V at the Nesplein. This restaurant and café is super cosy and perfect for drinks with friends or lunch on a cold day!

The Lobby Fizeaustraat

Never change a wining team. That’s why the newest addition of The Lobby-family on the Fizeaustraat has a fireplace as well. The beautiful interior, good vibes and good food make that you want to go here every night.

Another spot that is not only very nice in the summer, but also in the winter. Now that it’s freezing, the fireplace is the perfect place to hang out with friends. With a view of the IJ and a drink, you’ll get through winter here easily.

Café De Wetering

De Wetering is a cosy bar with a nice homely atmosphere and is the perfect place to meet up with friends for a beer. The fireplace is via a staircase on a mezzanine above the bar.

This spot at De Baarsjes is perfect to have drinks and bites with friends. There is plenty of space around the fireplace for your friends. You just need to be lucky that nobody beat you to it.

Pacific Parc

Do you have cold toes after a stroll in the Westerpark? No worries….. the cool hanging fire place at Pacific Parc will warm you up. Order some hot chocolate, and you are good to go.

The Vergulden Eenhoorn in East is a place where you can retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city. The farmhouse is very cosy and a delightful spot for any time of the year. The big bonus in winter, of course, is the fireplace and the heated terrace outside.

Another nice spot in Amsterdam North is Noorderlicht. It’s on walking distance of Pllek. Here you will find a tough, rugged fireplace where you can warm up.

W Lounge

If you are looking for a place with a view, then go to the W Lounge (at W Hotel). Take place in one of the design chairs close to the fire place. You won’t feel anything from the heat, but it still looks really nice.

You find Hangar along the IJ where the wind can blow pretty hard. So a warm, cosy place is very welcome. To heat the place up, Hangar does not only have a big fireplace, but very comfortable beanbags as well. Perfect for those cold bums.
