Hotel The Exchange Amsterdam: fashion & design

23 June 2014

Cool hotel for fashion minded people!

When travelling I love to stay at design and fashion hotels! And it was about time to share a very cool fashion hotel in Amsterdam with you! Hotel The Exchange is a very special fashion hotel in the heart of Amsterdam. All rooms are unique and designed by graduates from the AMFI fashion school in Amsterdam or designer Ina Matt.

What I really like about the concept of Hotel The Exchange in Amsterdam is that they rated the rooms from 1 to 5 stars based on the size of the room and the budget you are willing to spend on your city trip to Amsterdam. We stayed in the beautiful 5 star room 605 designed by Ina Matt. A very spacious room with a lovely rooftop terrace overlooking the Beurs van Berlage at the Rokin. What a view!

For the design of the rooms the artists thought of the rooms as a 3D model they had to dress. This resulted in a range of very creative designs. In some rooms you sleep in a huge skirt, other rooms dressed the chairs in outfits and focussed more on the fabrics used. I had the luck to peek into some of the rooms and love to share some of my favourites with you to inspire you to book a room for your next trip.

For breakfast Hotel The Exchange has its own cafe on the Damrak called Stock. This is also a nice place for lunch or coffee if you’re shopping in Amsterdam and you’re looking for a spot close to Amsterdam Central Station to have a break.
