Hortus by Light Amsterdam: Hortus Botanicus heats the coming dark, cold winter nights

Are you also getting this intense happy feeling every time the lights slowly illuminate the city during these dark evenings? Then we’ve found the perfect event for you that you don’t want to miss: the Hortus by Light Amsterdam days of of course; Hortus Botanicus! The botanical garden offers a special evening program this winter with a special tour and an extensive dinner. A few evenings in December and January the garden will be open after closing time and you can enjoy an illuminated garden and cozy greenhouses, a winter terrace with a campfire and glühwein or hot chocolate with rum ;-) and if you want finish your evening in the best way possible, you can also enjoy a three-course dinner in the restaurant of the garden Oranjerie.

During the guided tour you’ll discover how plants and animals respond to the night. Do you prefer to go out on your own? Then there is also a specially illuminated walking route in the garden.

Do you want to stay for dinner at Oranjerie? Then book on time! The surprise three-course dinner is freshly prepared daily and costs € 45 per person.
