The Oosterpark has been fully refurbished and of course this includes a new hotspot: Generator Amsterdam. This design hostel has opened its doors on March 16 and gives the Oosterpark neighbourhood a true upgrade. Don’t think of a dilapidated ramschackle when you hear ‘hostel’, because Generator Amsterdam gives a whole new meaning here, yay!

Generator Amsterdam is located in the historic university building, which dates back to 1917. An old building, but now completely inserted into a hip and modern way. And if we say hip, we mean very hip. High ceilings and old elements combined with innovative architecture and lots of colours. Makes us happy!
The hostel is all about design. Not only in the bedrooms, but also in the other areas. The hallways of the rooms are decorated with super cool wall art and even the ride in the elevator is an experience. Every corner exudes innovation and yet you walk through an old property. So super cool!
Generator Amsterdam is not only focussed on the traveller, but as well on the people from Amsterdam, yes! Besides sleeping, you can go here for a dinner at the restaurant or have a drink at one of the bars. Or even better, you can sit here and work, have a cocktail afterwards and dance till the early morning. Believe us if we say that the bars – for example in the old classrooms – are prepared for early morning sessions. So there’s something for everyone! Want to sleepover?
