Hijacked Amsterdam, the online traveling store now in the West

Gekaapt Amsterdam has officially set up shop on Kinkerstraat in West. I can hear you thinking, "I know that name from somewhere..." For years, Gekaapt Amsterdam was a traveling online shop and pop-up shop where you could find the most beautiful home and fashion pieces from unique brands focused on sustainability. And now they have a permanent location in the city where you can browse day in, day out, for beautiful gems for yourself or your friend's birthday.

Every day, the (currently) 17 enthusiastic entrepreneurs of Gekaapt are ready to assist you in the store on Kinkerstraat. This means you'll meet the creator of your beautiful new pillow, painting, or scarf. Great! The Gekaapt Amsterdam store also has a new line: Vegan Lane, a collection of brands and products that fit the vegan lifestyle, meaning they're cruelty-free and free from animal testing.

Hijacked Amsterdam remains a springboard for entrepreneurs

Gekaapt was founded in 2013 by Rick Ruijter of Brût Amsterdam, Aanyoug Yeh, and Jan Swinkels of Doing Goods and Wonderwall Studios. Four years and eight different pop-up stores later, the trio handed over the business to Natali Salvaggio, who had already been operating her own online and offline interior design shop, Hunting the Pretty, at Gekaapt Amsterdam for two years. The concept hasn't changed since then. Gekaapt continues to serve as a springboard for individual entrepreneurs and has helped numerous brands achieve success. All these beautiful brands with sustainable products in fashion, interior design, food, and personal care can now be found in the Gekaapt Amsterdam store.

Even though Gekaapt now has a permanent location in Amsterdam, the Kapers remain a bunch of pirates. They're still searching for the most beautiful, unique brands ;-) Their motto remains "Work like a captain, play like a pirate." Thumbs up!
