Funnel Cake Ice Cream Sandwiches are the next big thing

Oh my… We've spotted another food trend in America that we hope will come to Amsterdam soon, very soon: Funnel Cake Ice Cream Sandwiches! You've probably heard of funnel cake before; it's a quintessential American treat. A funnel cake is a combination of a Dutch doughnut and Spanish churros, resembling French fries stuck together. You eat the cake with powdered sugar and cinnamon. Perfect for me, as a huge sweet tooth!

Previously, you'd mostly find this fried treat at fairs and amusement parks, but more recently, it's also become more common at restaurants and food trucks on the street. But not in the fast food way you probably know it, of course. These days, the funnel cake is transformed into a funnel cake ice cream sandwich. Between the two slices of funnel cake is a thick slice of ice cream, with sprinkles, Oreo crunch, or nuts if you're lucky. Delicious!

If anyone feels called to open a funnel cake food truck in Amsterdam, we'll be the first in line!
