13 X French toast in Amsterdam for the perfect breakfast

22 February 2017

must know places for the best French toast in amsterdam

French toast in Amsterdam… you can order it at so many places now, but where can you find the best dish? French toast and pancakes are my favourite guilty pleasure on an early Sunday morning. When they’re both listed on the menu, I’m always in doubt what to choose. Luckily I know by now where to go for the best french toast in Amsterdam. Check our list with our favourite spots and plan to go for breakfast with friends this weekend!

13 x French toast in amsterdam to try

Little Collins: A french toast made with brioche, caramel, banana, peanut crumbs and whipped cream. Uh, YES!

G’s: At G’s you want to order the french toast, because you’ll get crusty bread with cinnamon and banana. Top it with some bacon for the perfect sweet / salty combination.

Metropolitain: Metropolitain is perfect for everyone who’s a sweet tooth. The sweet breakfasts over here are so good! Especially the french toast made with cinnamon bread, quite a lot of mascarpone and fresh fruit is highly recommended.

Bakers & Roasters: A french toast made from nut bread, homemade banana jam and crispy bacon. Hallelujah, is the only thing I can say about it.

Louie Louie: At Louis Louis you get a very special french toast. Corn bread with avocado, pancetta and agave syrup. We want to try!

Anne & Max: My favorite brunch spot close to the Amstelveenseweg on a Sunday morning is Anne &  Max. Get the french toast with jam and clotted cream and a large energy shake!

TEDS: At TEDS you want to try the french toast. It’s made with a thick brioche, topped with quite a lot of maple syrup, bacon and banana.

Bar Spek: Simpel but so good. At Bar Spek you get the classic french toast with red fruit and sour creme.

Bar Botanique: Our favorite new hotspot in Amsterdam East. You want to go to this place to order a coffee and enjoy the tropical interior. And of course to order a french toast with cinnamon butter and fresh fruit. It’s is so good!

Stek: At Stek you won’t get french toast with bacon and banana, but with lemon, ricotta, fresh compote and crunchy nuts.

Tinner: Tinner (not thinner!) has two different french toasts to offer. Go for the French toast made from banana bread, bacon, maple syrup, sour cream and powdered sugar. Or the french toast with sugar bread, berry maple syrup, cream and icing sugar.

De Wasserette: Don’t the name confuse you, De Wasserette is not a place to wash your clothes. Here you can order a delicious french toast!

Staring at Jacob: At Staring at Jacob you get the french toast jackpot. 2 brioche rolls with banana-caramel sauce, bacon and a compote of seasonal fruit. OMG!

Bon appétit!
