Fonda Café Amsterdam: the great all-day hotspot at the Stedelijk Museum

Fonda Café Amsterdam is the newest hotspot at the Stedelijk Museum. This is remarkable, because you often don't have to have incredibly high expectations for a museum café. Good coffee is often more a matter of chance or a pleasant coincidence. That's not the case at Fonda, where the coffee, tea, and matcha are at their finest.

Atmosphere and interior at Fonda Café Amsterdam
Who hasn't heard of the iconic hall of the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam? Right on Museumplein, you'll find two new hotspots under the Fonda banner: Fonda Café and Fonda Bar, founded by the owners of Oficina in Amsterdam West.
The bar area is located in the entrance hall on the ground floor and is open to everyone, whether you're visiting the museum or not. Fonda Café is on the first floor, near the building's iconic staircase. To visit the café, you do need a museum ticket, or of course, a museum card. The café has the character of a classic luncheonette, including large shared tables and a self-service counter.

Menu and dishes at Fonda Café
In both locations, you'll find yourself in a unique space with an equally unique energy. After all, coffee or lunch in a historic building featuring the world's most prominent works of art is simply energizing.
Fonda's menu offers more than just good coffee and tea. They bake fresh treats daily, such as homemade banana bread and other cakes. The classic French omelet is also a must-try, as is the oyster mushroom toast with a fried egg. Each dish is simple, yet incredibly delicious.

Fonda Café is perfect for a lunch or cup of coffee during your museum visit
Are you visiting the Stedelijk Museum or do you have a museum card? Then be sure to check out both the bar and café areas. For anyone in the area, the bar is worth a visit – the coffee (from La Cabra for those in the know) and matcha are just as good as those at Oficina.

First of all: thank you for being here to close out 2025 <3.
2025, you were everything I hoped you would be and more. So many new memories.
I don't yet know what 2026 will bring, but last year was one for the books. Highlights included trips to China, Mexico City, Egypt, and exploring the English countryside.
Entrepreneurs probably recognize that 2025 was not an easy year.
When I started Your Little Black Book, I had one dream: not to work to stay somewhere for free in exchange for content and the pressure of a "picture perfect" experience. But to use my revenue models to book and experience those special places myself, as a guest instead of an influencer, and to give you honest tips.
After almost 15 years of entrepreneurship, I'm so happy with the balance between editorial and commercial work and that I can also say no to things that don't feel right.
At the same time, it's still special that destinations, airlines, and hotels hire me to create a customized Little Black Book for them. I have complete freedom with these campaigns, and I believe in the value of these content-based tips that truly suit your taste. And they come from me personally, not from a machine.

This will always be my dream job, the one I created almost 15 years ago. I still do as much as possible myself. That's energizing—from both successes and failures.

This is the coolest new hotel for a night away! Meet @viaantwerp, Antwerp's newest boutique hotel on the border of Zurenborg and Borgerhout (yep, voted the 2nd coolest neighborhood in the world by Time Out).
I recently stayed at this gem, and it truly has it all: a lively bar with a cozy atmosphere, walls adorned with creative art, beautiful, bright rooms, and it's within walking distance of great hotspots. And I haven't even mentioned @mea.antwerp! The delightful restaurant, helmed by a chef who previously worked at The Palomar in London. If you know, you know!
