Anyone who, like me, is a freelancer will recognize this: you're (almost) always working everywhere. Your Little Black Book has been around for six years, and I now know the best flexi-work spots in every district. From flexi-work spots that are perfect for a full day's work and have all the business amenities, to hotspots where you can just open your laptop when you're in between meetings. For everyone who works as a freelancer or, like me, has started their own startup, I've compiled this list of the best workspaces in Amsterdam!

Because I'm often on the go and no two days are the same, I've compiled a list of my favorite flexi-workspaces in Amsterdam just for you. I've included a few tips for each district, so you'll always have a place to work and take your exciting projects to the next level. Will you spot me here, busy typing away on my MacBook? It would be great if you'd stop by and say hello!
Perhaps one of the best flexi-workspaces in Amsterdam. If I told you Zoku is on Weesperstraat, you'd think it's in the East, but it's right on the edge of the city center. Zoku is an official flexi-workspace, and you can choose to pay a daily or monthly fee to work there. A day pass costs €25, including lunch (which is really good here, by the way), and a monthly subscription costs just under €150. If you have an official meeting or perhaps a kickoff for a new project, this is a truly inspiring location. You can also rent separate meeting rooms, and in the summer, the rooftop terrace is a fantastic place to be!

You'll need a membership (starting at €85 per month) and a bit of a selection process (which reportedly isn't difficult), but then you'll have a spot in the heart of Amsterdam that's always accessible. At Soho House Amsterdam, the atmosphere is relaxed, and everyone is focused on meeting and flexible working. If you're ready for a break, you can unwind on their rooftop terrace (with a pool) or visit the gym for a lunch break.

Brand new and just a stone's throw from Amsterdam Central Station: the spacious new location of Lot61 – perhaps my favorite coffee shop in Amsterdam. The space is enormous and full of light, with cozy nooks where you can retreat during (digital) meetings. And of course, the excellent coffee and pastries alone are worth a visit.

When I work somewhere all day, I make sure it's a place that actively promotes its welcoming of flexible workers, not a small establishment where they'd have to "sell" the table where I sit with my laptop to someone else every hour. As an entrepreneur, I think you should also consider the other entrepreneurs! It should feel a bit homey, and you don't want to feel like someone's looking away when you're about to see the bottom of your cappuccino. In the heart of Amsterdam, I prefer to work in the lobby of The Hoxton. Downstairs is a popular hangout for people with appointments (I always run into people I know, which is nice!), but upstairs is wonderfully peaceful. A barista recently joined the company who can also make amazing latte art, and I have to say, it really makes my day when I have a big deadline and am secretly feeling a little stressed!
Herengracht 255, Amsterdam, thehoxton.com
A big plus: this hotspot opens at 8:00 AM, perfect if you need to schedule an early meeting or meet a deadline and get started before dawn. It's wonderfully bright, and if you need to squeeze in a few hours of work between appointments, this spot is perfect. Note: there's no place to charge your laptop or phone, so bring a fully charged battery.

If you work here, you certainly won't be productive because of the coffee. As the name suggests, it's made by Bocca, and they're the best. I really appreciate the bright space, and because you just have to know it's on Kerkstraat, there's always a spot. It's a hidden gem of a flexi-work spot. Be warned: these days, you have to pay a few euros an hour if you want to work there with your laptop.

As part of the newest Hoxton Hotel in Amsterdam, Breman Brasserie A great flexible workspace. Not only is it open for breakfast, brunch, lunch, coffee, and dinner, it's also an excellent flexible workspace and the ultimate location for a hearty Friday afternoon drink.

If you've been following Your Little Black Book for a while, you probably know I live in Amsterdam East. The opening of the Volkshotel was a big deal back then. It was the first place near Wibautstraat where freelancers could work all day for free. I still go there regularly, and it's especially recommended in the summer, because the rooftop bar Canvas on the 7th floor is a great place for after-work drinks.
Wibautstraat 150, Amsterdam, volkshotel.nl
Right across from the Volkshotel, you'll find The Social Hub, and flex workers are more than welcome there too. The interior with its Miami colors and cheerful vibe always gives me a good dose of work energy. Also nice: you can get a very affordable lunch there if you need a break. Wibautstraat 131, Amsterdam. thesocialhub.co/amsterdam-city
In terms of interior, this is still one of my favorite hotspots in Amsterdam. I love coming here for an early breakfast meeting or a final appointment at the end of the day. Afterwards, you're right next to the lively Javastraat for a bite to eat.
First Van Swindenstraat 581, Amsterdam, barbotanique.nl
High windows, an urban jungle, good coffee, tasty sandwiches… all the perfect ingredients for me when I want to get some work done in an inspiring place!

Experience high-end flexible working – literally! – at Innside by Melia in the Zuidas business district. This brand-new, stylishly designed space is designed for flexible working during the day. Fridays are ideal, as the cocktail bar is the perfect spot for a late-afternoon drink.

They now have two locations and are also located in the beautiful Hoftuin, but if you are in Amsterdam Oud Zuid and want to sit somewhere with a nice coffee and your laptop, then this is a great place.

A big plus of the Kanarie Club is that they open early on weekdays at 8:30 am. The reading table is a great place to work, and a big plus is, of course, that you can grab dim sum (or something else delicious) for lunch at the adjacent Foodhallen.
Bellamyplein 51, Amsterdam, kanarieclub.nl
Anyone who loves a good cup of coffee (and what coffee drinker doesn't...) will find the perfect spot at White Label Coffee. There's not much seating, so it's not a place to linger all day, but it's perfect for a quick caffeine boost and a quick check of your email!
Jan Evertsenstraat 136, Amsterdam, whitelabelcoffee.nl
It's been there for a while, but Ebeling underwent a major renovation not so long ago. They have plenty of seating inside, so there's a good chance you'll find a quiet spot to work during the day!

In Amsterdam Noord, chances are you're looking for a workspace either near Overhoeksplein or the NDSM wharf. So, here's a top tip for both locations: the perfect spot if you want to stay all day or need to catch up on emails between appointments.
On the edge of Amsterdam-Noord, you'll find the trendy TRIBE hotel, with plenty of space for a full day of undisturbed flexi-working. And thanks to the service and stylish interior of a 4-star hotel, you'll want for nothing during your workday. That's a double win!

Did you know this spot is open 24 hours a day? If you're working here, chances are you won't be able to resist a burger for lunch. This hotspot is tucked away in the lobby of the Sir Adam Hotel and is my favorite spot for meetings and sightseeing near the ferry on the other side of Amsterdam Central Station.
Overhoeksplein 7, Amsterdam, the-butcher.com/socialclub
At the NDSM wharf, PLLEK is my go-to spot for meetings and work. I especially love how bright it is here. It can get quite busy during lunch and drinks, but the rest of the day it's a great place to get work done.
Tt. Neveritaweg 59, Amsterdam, pllek.nl
Van de Werf, a highly successful flexi-workspace in Amsterdam, has recently opened at the NDSM Werf Wharf, in my opinion. The enormous space is bright and inviting, and the concept is accessible, making it feel like the living room of North Amsterdam.
