Amsterdam North Barracuda, a seafood restaurant located on Aambeeldstraat, has added a great hotspot this year. They have a unique approach: each table receives a menu where you can select which dishes you'd like to have, including fish and chips. From ricotta toast and scallops in white wine to fennel with sea aster, there's also plenty of choice for vegetarians.

Le Trout
On the beautiful Bosboom Toussaintstraat, you'll find Le Forel – a French bistro in Amsterdam with fresh fish daily and a menu that adapts to the current demand. Think specialties like lobster mac & cheese, sole meunière, and classic fish & chips.

The Converted Sister
A historic brewery in the heart of Amsterdam: if you didn't know this place, you'd easily walk right past De Bekeerde Suster. That's a shame, because besides a huge selection of (craft) beers, you can also get crispy fish and chips here.

Pesca may not have a fixed menu, but they often offer fish and chips. The "fish theater" on Rozengracht is now getting two (!) international siblings, following the opening of its second restaurant in Rotterdam. The new destinations? Nice and Hamburg.

Heading out of town? 🍂 These are my favorite walking and drinking spots in the Netherlands.
To be honest... I don't see myself living outside the city anytime soon, but on weekends I do enjoy getting out into nature. That's why I've created a YLBB shortlist of the most beautiful hiking areas, complete with a great spot for drinks nearby.
