Fermentology! Amsterdam: new foodfestival on September 20

19 September 2014

Mediamatic x NeighbourFood Market Eat At Your Own Risk!

Did it ever cross your mind that most of the food you eat fermented is?From cheese to bread and sausage and from kimchi to sauerkraut. It gets the delicious taste because of the breeding and growing organisms in it! What can I say? I LOVE it :-). At the new food festival Fermentology! you can enjoy the best of the best when it comes to fermented food.

For this unique food event Mediamatic and the NeighbourFood Market team up! Saturday September 20 between 12 – 8 pm you find this food festival at the Van Gendthallen next to Amsterdam Roest.

This food event is not only about eating, you can also see and experience food related things. Imagine seeing a 3D printer creating new organisms or growing Magic Mushrooms. Or learn how to make your own sauerkraut! Handy since the fall and winter are coming up.

The food line up at Fermentology! is full of local entrepreneurs and other fermented food specialists: Meesterbakker Efraim, Terrabites, Brandt & Levie, Tomoko Take, Omnipollo, Bakbrommer, aangespoelde verhalen, Vrij & Blij Cocktails, L’ Entrecote Mobile, Miss Marmelade, Maki, Butchers Tears, Insecten van Ernst, Het Kweekvlees Kookboek, Motheryeast Homebakers and Bis Publishers are present!

Entrance for Fermentology! is free! Yay :-). Click here for the full programme.

Tip: during Fermentology! you can also visit the exhibit Kunstformen Der Natur at the Mediamatic Fabriek in the Van Gendthallen. I have to say that the building itself is worth checking out too!
