these are the most extraordinary hostels in the world

Staying in expensive hotels, distant Bed & Breakfasts or extraordinary hostels? I already made my choice! Exploring new places is one of the best thing in the world, but there is not always a budget for that. Hostels are the perfect place to stay during a weekend away or a city trip. Not only are they cheap, but they also give you the chance to meet new people. Traveling with a group? Book a big room for all of you!

Most people choose a cheap hostel with a location near the centre. There are so many of them! Price and location are important of course, but how much fun is it to stay at a location that’s different than your normal stay, like a floating hostel. We’ve got the most fun and extraordinary hostels collected for you. Hurry and plan you next city trip!

6 X extraordinary HOSTELS you really want to visit one day

Arkabarka Hostel: in the heart of one of the most beautiful parks of Belgrado, near the Donau you will find the Arkabarka Hostel. Surrounded by green nature and near the centre. Sounds great right?! This floating hostel will be a new experience for many of you, because how many times have you slept in a floating hostel already? The hostel completely consists of wood with cosy rooms and a view on the lake. It’s definitely a recommendation for nature lovers. Tip: the perfect get away for a romantic trip!

Sleeperzzz: you will find this hostel in the mountains of Scotland, where an old train was rebuild into a hostel. Kind of sounds like a fairytale! The interior was completely adjusted with beds and other furniture. Practical and cosy with a view on the free nature. Visit this hostel with kids or train lovers, they will love it for sure.

Hostel Celica Art: since a few years there is a trend in Europe where old buildings get renovated and changed into new locations. This is also the case for Hostel Celica Art located in the capital of Slovenia. This former prison was renovated by more than 80 artists into an arty hostel with more than 20 rooms. Interesting for anybody who loves art and meditation.

Kadir’s Top Tree Houses: located in the rough nature of Olympus, Turkey you will find the ultimate dream tree house of every child. Different tree houses were build here, some are on great hight and others are closer to the ground. Besides enjoying the nature you can participate on one of the many activities. Like walking through nature or swimming in the sea. So this will be an active trip for sure!

Radeka Downunder: in this hostel in Australia you can sleep under the ground. Staying in this cave hole is an impressive and exciting experience. There are budget rooms, doorns and even suites. This hostel is owned by just one family with a passion for living in the nature. Tip: go on one of the daily trips to Coober Pedly!

Jumbo Stay: this is the ultimate dream for anybody who loves airplanes! You stay in this hostel in Arlanda, Stockholm in a cockpit. A Jumbo 747 was bought and rebuild in 2007 by a Swedish hotel owner. A year later Hostel Jumbo Stay opened. The hostel only has 27 rooms so make sure you book your cockpit room in time!
