Stedelijk Museum – Jana Euler: High in Amsterdam, The Sky Of Amsterdam: At the exhibition High in Amsterdam, The Sky of Amsterdam, we can see ‘old’ work by the German artist Jana Euler, and work she has made specifically for Stedelijk Museum. Paintings, images and texts that can’t be described as one style, they are abstract and figurative. She knows how to deform and twist classical themes from art history, after which she confirms them with a dull and dry humor again. Jana challenges the perception and definition of reality and images.

Last call: Jaski – Lenteshow 2017: At Jaski Gallery you can visit the Spring 2017 showcase and see work by both cobra artists and contemporary artists. Cobra artists like Karel Appel, Pierre Alechinsky, Anton Rooskens and Hugo Claus and Contemporary artists like Andy Warhol, Takashi Murakami, Les Deux Garcons and Chris Berens.

Stedelijk Museum – Edward Krasiński: Krasiński was one of the most important artists from Eastern Europe. He was inspired by the pre-war avant–garde movements, one of them being the constructivism. His work mainly exists of dynamic sculpturen and big installations, which can now be seen at the Stedelijk Museum.

Eye Filmmuseum – Martin Scorsese – The Exhibition: Martin Scorsese (1942), director of classics like Taxi Driver, Raging Bull and The Wolf of Wall Street has developed a unique film handwriting by this time. Grown up as a son of Italian immigrants in Little Italy, New York, he sketches an enchanting view in his films on this close environment in which family, faith and trust are central subjects and values. The first major exhibition about Martin Scorses’s work, life and passion will be featured in EYE Filmmuseum’s rooms from May 25th. Plus a lot of Scorsese’s favourite movies.

Stedelijk Museum – Seth Price – Social Synthetic: At the Stedelijk Museum we can visit the first exhibition of the American artist Seth Price. Over 140 works such as sculptures, installations, 16mm films, drawings, paintings, videos, clothing for textiles, web design, music, sound and poetry since 2000 are featured over here. Seth Price does not limit himself to one medium or style, it may be clear, but he repeatedly explores new areas. His innovations, interests and themes have a major influence on his own generation and younger artists, partly due to his approach to digital manipulation and cultural transformation.

Stadsarchief Amsterdam – Marc Faasse – Toeristen in Amsterdam: Tourists in Amsterdam, there are many of them. You can photograph them the easy way, but Marc Faasse did this on his own. With a 9 meters long selfie stick. Almost every tourist has one, but 9 meters long… Because he took pictures of this height, they’re unique and show a coming things is a very special way.

Stad in oorlog, Amsterdam 1940 – 1945 in foto’s, shows us new images of this period. Photos that have not been published before and which give us a realistic image on the war and the occupation.

Last call: FOAM – William Eggleston – Los Alamos: You can to William Eggleston – Los Alamos at FOAM. Shots from 1966 – 1974, made during various trips through the Southern states of America. William Eggleston was one of the leading photographers, and in this exhibition you can find some real iconic works, including his first color photo.

Last call: Huis van Marseille – In Egypte –Reizigers en fotografen, 1850 – 1900: At the House of Marseille you can go to an exhibition on the 19th-century photography of Egypt. Travel with the explorers and photographers who rediscovered the land along the Nile, see monumental mosques in Cairo, and monuments in distant Nubia.

Nieuwe Kerk – World Press Photo: The tour of the international press photo contest can now be seen in the Nieuwe Kerk in Amsterdam. It’s already the 60th edition! Watch photos from the 45 winners, coming from 25 different countries and in 8 different categories. Think: daily life, nature, people, sports etc. In every category, 3 winners have been chosen. You can also see photos of previous winners.

Moco Museum – Banksy – Laugh Now: On the ground floor you can go to Banksy: Laugh Now. About 50 works can be seen here from the street art legend, and you have to see it at least once. It’s the first time in history that there’s an exhibition with the work of Banksy. You can also go to the beautiful exhibition of Salvador Dalí. 28 years ago one of the most famous artists died and his most iconic work as for example the melting clocks and tables with ‘high heels’ are ready to be seen at the Moco Museum.

Last call: Van Gogh Museum – Prints in Paris 1900: The exhibition Prints in Paris takes you to Paris, where from 1980 a revolution started in printmaking. Samen fietsen door Shanghai 🥰! Met stip een van de mooiste nieuwe herinneringen die we deze meivakantie maakten.
China; je was GE-WEL-DIG! Ontelbaar veel kommen met noodles, iedere dag bao buns en dumplings in alle vormen en maten 🥟, de lekkerste Peking duck ever, panda’s 🐼 en dwalen door de Verboden Stad en over de Chinese muur.
De tips komen er aan, maar eerst BACK TO WORK en school.
Ik ben heel benieuwd wat jij voor leuks hebt gedaan de afgelopen twee weken. Van nieuwe restaurants tot iets leuks in Nederland of misschien was je ook wel op reis?

In deze nieuwe Hong Kong vlog reis je met mij mee door de wijken Sheung Wan, Central en Kowloon. HK is echt foodie heaven met de leukste mix van lokale eettentjes en hippe koffiebarretjes.

MINI VLOG vanuit Hong Kong! Wat was het genieten om hier weer terug te zijn 🐉. Al etend de stad door, waar ik misschien wel 10 x geweest ben, maar waar altijd iets nieuws te ontdekken is.
Omdat de laatste keer in HK al een tijd geleden was wilde ik ook graag naar wat klassiekers terug die we niet in Nederland hebben! Dus de 1e avond gingen we direct na het inchecken door voor een easy dinner bij DTF 🔥 op loopafstand van ons hotel.
Geen trending audio, wel real time verslag van onze reis zonder al te veel te editten ☺️. We zijn namelijk iedere dag de hele dag op pad en zo in het moment aan het reizen. Weinig tijd voor social updates, maar wel heel veel tips voor een nieuwe Hong Kong Travel Guide. Dat gevoel doet me bijna denken aan onze wereldreis een paar jaar geleden 🥰.

Nieuwe lievelings van het team achter Metro!
Ik neem je mee naar @caferestaurantsandberg waar je 7 dagen per week kunt lunchen in Amsterdam alsof het weekend is.
En zo werd een doodgewone woensdag opeens een little Friday ☺️ met 🦪, 🥂 en meer 🍾.
Dagkaart meer dan goedgekeurd, nu snel nog een keer terug voor de avondkaart en het bewonderen van de lichtval als het gaat schemeren. 🥺
Had ik al gezegd dat ze ook een terras hebben aan het Museumplein? ☀️

Afgelopen week was ik een paar dagen in Barcelona als start van een geweldige rondreis door Catalonië. Deze combinatie gaf me precies hetzelfde gevoel als vorig jaar toen ik New York City en Upstate NY combineerde: vanaf nu wil ik nooit meer anders tijdens een citytrip!
