Not feeling Christmas yet? These spectacular window displays will get you in the holiday spirit!
The month December is amazing in New York. Everywhere there are lights and Christmas decorations. We’ve had a couple of days of snow, but still a lot of sun!
A thing that they do so so well here is making Christmas time incredibly special. If you’re here this month you have to take a look at the beautiful window displays at these stores. They are awesome! For many stores this costs a year of preparation (that’s right as soon as they break down the windows, they’ll start for next holiday season). There’s interaction, animation, they have magical stories to tell, there’s beautiful music. For the people that cannot make it to New York this time of year; have a look at the most beautiful window displays.
Name: Bloomingdale’s
Address: 1000 3rd Avenue (between 59th and 60th Street)
What is there to see: Christmas with an international spark. We see window displays on Great Britain, China, Paris, Italy and of course New York: “Take a journey with us around the world and remember that certain things like love and style are universal“. Amen.
Name: Lord and Taylor
Address: 424 5th Avenue (between 38 and 39 Street)
What is there to see: “Vintage New York“. Romantic traditional style. Lord and Taylor looks back on New York during Christmas in the old days.
Name: Macy’s
Address: 151 W 34th Street
What is there to see: “Dream and Believe” is about a little boy that is dreaming about Christmas. Such a shame you guys can’t here the beautiful music. A fairytale…
Name: Bergdorf Goodman
Address: 754 5th Avenue/ 58th Street
What is there to see: “Holidays on Ice” tells us about the classic American holidays Arbor Day (a day when people are encouraged to appreciate, plant and care for trees), Thanksgiving, 4th of July, April Fools’ Day, Valentine’s Day, Halloween, Mardi Gras, New Year’s Eve and Groundhog Day, which are captured in a frozen window display.

What is there to see: “Hirschfeld Spectacular” shows us a scene in a classic New York dining room. It gives you a peek inside while they are having a party. From left to right there’s: Woopie Goldberg, Audrey Hepburn, Woody Allen, Marilyn Monroe, Matthew Broderick, Sara Jessica Parker, Liza Minnelli, Jerry Stiller, Bernadette Peters, Carol Channing and artist Al Hirschfeld (famous cartoonist of the New York Times and is being honored here. Some of his drawing are being shown as well).

What is there to see: “The Yeti Story“. For years there has been a rumor that a yeti lives on the rooftop of Saks on 5th Avenue and makes snow in the winter. Follow this fluffy, cute yeti on his journey in search for the most beautiful snow flakes… The 3-D light show outside is awesome as well.
