Dubbelleven Amsterdam: an interior shop in West where you want to go

26 September 2017

Dubbelleven Amsterdam is a hidden gem in West

7 years ago, Martine Ruskus started buying old furniture to refurbish them with chalk paint and then sell them again to interior addicts like us. Soon she noticed that this was a nice investment idea and she came up with accessories to match the furniture. Now, 7 years later, you can buy her unique chalk paint in eight stores in the Netherlands ánd you can now go to her own store in Amsterdam West: Dubbelleven Amsterdam. A hidden gem that we love to share with you. Here you shop more than just paint!

What you can score at Dubbelleven Amsterdam? Of course her own chalk paint line, which is hand filled / stitched / sealed and written to refurbish your own furniture at home. But also reworked furniture and accessories, new interior items, gifts for your best friend, plants, lot’s of plants and other must haves like jewelry and clothes. Tip: new items are purchased every week, so you can come back every week to shop new items!

The name Dubbelleven Amsterdam can be taken quite literally. Owner Martine Ruskus worked for the first three years at night and was running her business during the day, aka she led a double life. And with the chalk paint line, you can give your old furniture a second life; a double life. Nice!

Whether you want to refurbish old furniture or just need some inspiration, check out Dubbelleven Amsterdam and try not to buy everything ;-)
