18 X Hotspots that are perfect for drinks with friends in Amsterdam

2 January 2018

this is where to toast on the new year with friends

Nothing as good as being surrounded by your friends and toast to the year new together. Chances are that you’ll soon meet up with friends to have a drink to celebrate the new year. That’s why we’ve made a new list today with several great spots in every neighbourhood to meet up for a drink in Amsterdam. That of course isn’t complete without the much needed bar snacks! New Years resolutions will have to wait till next week ;-).

Venster33It’s always nice and busy in this hotspot in the Pijp, and to start off the new year with a delicious G&T or a Moscow Mule doesn’t seem like a bad start to me, does it? ;-) Also great spot if you want to have lunch with your friends in the new year.
Eerste van der Helststraat 42, Amsterdam –

Bar Fisk: Whether you would like a drink or a more extensive dinner, Bar Fisk is one of the best newcomers in the Pijp of the past year.
Eerste Sweelinckstraat 23, Amsterdam –

Louie Louie

Vergulden Eenhoorn: If you’ve never been to this hotspot in de East of Amsterdam, you definitely need to go soon. The location is so unique with its garden, especially in the summer. But also during the winter it’s a great spot to have a drink!
Ringdijk 58, Amsterdam

Louie Louie: Here the staff is ready for you from 10AM in the morning. Perhaps that’s a little early to start drinking (but in case you might – we don’t judge ;-) ), but a nice breakfast isn’t so bad either.
Linneausstraat 11, Amsterdam –

Walter’s – The Walter Woodbury Bar: At this hotspot in the East of Amsterdam you can celebrate the new year with a nice drink. Like a great G&T for example!
Javastraat 42, Amsterdam –

Smokin’ Barrels: Will remain a favourite spot to eat a burger with a specialty beer. Just have some drinks at the bar is of course also a possibility!
Beukenplein 22, Amsterdam –

Bar Bukowski: At this hotspot in East they’re ready to welcome you in the early morning. Maybe you usually come here during the evenings, but during the day it’s also a great spot to meet up with friends.
Oosterpark 10, Amsterdam –

Restaurants in Amsterdam

Chin Chin Club

TaproomFor the actual die hards who don’t care about new year resolutions and an alcohol-free month beer café Taproom is a must. They have 24 beers on draught, mostly Dutch breweries like Gebrouwen door Vrouwen, De Prael and Two Chefs.
Nieuwe Vijzelstraat 1, Amsterdam –

Chin Chin ClubThis stays one of the best new hotspots of the past year on the Rozengracht. To have drinks, go all out with the karaoke or to have something to eat with friends.
Rozengracht 133, Amsterdam – Facebook

Mata HariYou’d almost forget about this spot because you probably don’t visit the Wallen very often, but Mata Hari is really recommended in this area. Very nice to have some drinks with friends in the heart of the centre and to do some people-watching.
Oudezijds Achterburgwal 22 –

Kanarie Club

The FoodhallenThe G&T bar in the Foodhallen is always recommended for drinks with friends. Be sure to be on time so you can manage to get yourself a spot and make sure to try the dim sum and Vietnamese street food if you’re in the Foodhallen!
Bellamyplein 51, Amsterdam –

De Kanarie ClubHaving some cocktails in de ‘pool’ upstairs or just have a drink in your hand at the bar. Meet up with friends first and afterwards catch a movie at the Filmhallen!
Bellamyplein 51, Amsterdam

Dapper: A modern brown bar where it’s nice and busy most of the time with locals. Have a drink at the bar and hang around for dinner.
Jacob van Lennepkade 58-60, Amsterdam –

TedsStarting the new year with a Boozy Brunch at Teds? Something else than just a drinks for a change, but chances are that one of these brunches will evolve into drinks till late in the evening.
Bosboom Toussaintstraat 60, Amsterdam

Bar Evert-Jan: Ever since the opening this is a popular drinking spot in the West of Amsterdam. They regularly organize events so definitely check out their Facebook page!
Jan Evertsenstraat 3, Amsterdam – Facebook

Bar MickIn the Spaarndammer area this remains one of the nicest bars to have a drink. Just some drinks at the bar and have some deep fried snacks and burgers!
Spaarndammerstraat 53H, Amsterdam –

Madam: Toasting to 2018 with the best view of Amsterdam, it can’t get any better than this right? Besides you can of course also have a delicious dinner here.
Overhoeksplein 3, Amsterdam –

Cannibale Royale: Also in the North of Amsterdam you can come here for the best burgers and deep fried snacks.
Mt. Ordinaweg 32, Amsterdam –

happy new year!
