former Toscanini staff opens Domenica Amsterdam

De noordermarkt It was already fun, and now it's even more fun! Former Chef and Sommelier at Toscanini recently opened their new spot right on this charming square. Chef Carestia is originally Italian, and we'll see a lot of that reflected in the kitchen. Together with Sommelier Schuurman (who worked at Toscanini for an impressive fifteen years), he's taking on the challenge and opening Domenica Amsterdam. 'Domenica' means 'Sunday' in Italian, and that's exactly the feeling they want to create at Domenica restaurant. Because according to them, it's 'always Sunday at the Noordermarkt'! Well, Sunday also happens to be my favorite day of the week, so I can totally relate.

It's intended to be a place where you can enjoy a leisurely lunch with family or friends (on a Sunday, for example) as well as a delicious dinner. Chef Carestia herself calls Domenica Amsterdam a "city bistro." An informal place where people from diverse backgrounds come together. And enjoy high-quality dishes together, of course. We're also really looking forward to Domenica Amsterdam's wine list, because it's supposed to be delicious too! And, of course, with plenty of Italian influences.

Great: Domenica Amsterdam has an open kitchen! It's always great to see the chefs at work.
