De Koffieschenkerij Amsterdam: for a good cup of coffee in the Red Light District

THE COFFEE SHOP AMSTERDAM IS THE PERFECT GETAWAY IN THE WALLEN NETHERLANDS

De Koffieschenkerij Amsterdam is the place to be in the Red Light District for a delicious cup of coffee. Not only that, but it's the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of this chaotic neighborhood. Believe it or not, you've probably walked past it countless times. You'll find De Koffieschenkerij in the Oude Kerk (Old Church) on Oudezijds Voorburgwal. Yep, the most beautiful and oldest church in Amsterdam.

Job and Anne, the owners of this authentic coffee shop, noticed a few years ago that part of the church was empty. Soon, the terrace was packed with coffee lovers. In the summer, you can enjoy the lovely morning sun and a steaming cup of coffee on the terrace, and in the winter, you can snuggle up in the cozy corner of the "living room."

THE MOST DELICIOUS APPLE PIE IN AMSTERDAM AT THE COFFEE SHOP AMSTERDAM?

The coffee they serve is from Bocca and the sandwiches from BROOD. The fresh soups are made by Not For Sale (a foundation that combats human exploitation), and the toppings are also sourced locally in Amsterdam. The cakes, which, by the way, look incredibly delicious, are made in-house. There's even speculation that they have the best apple pie in Amsterdam. We'd love to try it!

More hotspots in Amsterdam

The Red Light District might not be the first place you'd want to voluntarily spend an afternoon. But with the arrival of spots like De Koffieschenkerij, Ms. Crumbs en Dum Dum Palace it is slowly becoming a must-go neighborhood.

The Koffieschenkerij Amsterdam is open every day from 10:00 to 18:00. Enjoy!
