14 X corn mazes in the Netherlands to get lost in with the kids

September 3 2025
Last updated: September 3, 2025

Want to do something you've probably never done before this weekend? Then go (with the kids) to one of the corn mazes in the Netherlands! While compiling my annual bucket list for fun things to do with my son, I stumbled across it, and I have to admit, I'd never even heard of it before. Especially not in the Netherlands! A corn maze is a labyrinth created by farmers in their cornfields. It's naturally the most fun and spectacular to visit when the cornfields are at their peak and the corn is perhaps two meters tall. Most corn mazes in the Netherlands are open from around the end of July to the end of October, when the harvest is underway. Many of the corn mazes offer even more activities for kids, and there's a small entrance fee (be sure to bring cash, as debit cards aren't accepted everywhere!).

𝗔𝗡𝗧𝗪𝗘𝗥𝗣𝗘𝗡 𝗚𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗔𝗪𝗔𝗬 👀 This is the coolest new hotel for a night away! Meet @viaantwerp , the newest boutique hotel in Antwerp on the border of Zurenborg and Borgerhout (yep, voted 2nd coolest neighborhood in the world by Time Out). I recently stayed at this gem and this hotel really has it all: a lively bar with a cozy atmosphere, walls full of creative art, beautiful bright rooms and it's within walking distance of great hotspots. And I haven't even mentioned @mea.antwerp! The delicious restaurant with a chef behind the pans who previously cooked at The Palomar in London. If you know, you know! And now the best news: I can surprise one of you with a dream night away at VIA Antwerp. 💛 𝗪𝗔𝗧 𝗝𝗘 𝗞𝗨𝗡𝗧 𝗪𝗜𝗡𝗡𝗘𝗡 • Overnight stay for 2 people • Breakfast included • Chef's dinner at MEA 𝗭𝗢 𝗠𝗔𝗔𝗞 𝗝𝗘 𝗞𝗔𝗡𝗦 • Let us know in the comments which friend you would like to stay here with • Of course, also take a look at @viaantwerp & @mea.antwerp to dream away and follow their updates The winner will be notified personally via DM on December 10th. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you and will soon share a mini guide with more great tips for Antwerp! 🖤 ✖️✖️✖️ 🖊️ @anne_de_buck #antwerp #antwerp #zurenborg #antwerpencity #borgerhout

Think twinkling lights, mulled wine, food stalls, live music, unique gifts and lots of Christmas vibes all December long. Whether you're planning a festive day with the fam or friends, or just want to soak up that holiday spirit. These are the markets in Amsterdam to put on your calendar now. 🎄✨ 𝘿𝙧𝙤𝙥 “𝘾𝙃𝙍𝙄𝙎𝙏𝙈𝘼𝙎𝙈𝘼𝙍𝙆𝙀𝙏” 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙄'𝙡𝙡 𝙨𝙚𝙣𝙙 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝗮 𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝙔𝙇𝘽𝘽-𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙗𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝘾𝙝𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙢𝙖𝙨 𝙢𝙖𝙧𝙠𝙚𝙩𝙨. HOME ALONE 4 INCOMING 😅 My trip to NYC ends in a bad (Christmas) movie when the hotel gives my carry-on with my passport to an old lady who doesn't realize it and checks it in for a flight to the UK! Now I'm stuck here in NY without my passport, and I've missed my flight. I've experienced a lot in all the years I've been traveling for Your Little Black Book, but this is a first 😅. This chat video is purely therapeutic in nature 🤣🤣🤣. Because really: HOW?! 🫢 Note to self: better to take my passport with me all day, instead of leaving it 'safely' in the hotel apparently... and from now on, suitcases should be tied together with a cable in the storage room. Even if you're in a luxurious and expensive hotel, everything is still human work. Now I'm stuck in one of the nicest cities in the world, but of course I just want to be home with Manuel as planned. 😔 To be continued 🧳✈️ And thanks for all the sweet DMs ❤️❤️❤️❤️ ✖️✖️✖️ Anne
And do you also have a nice garden? I want to thank you for your patience and help. 𝟳-𝗷𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲! This time we went to @williams.farmhouse one of my favorites for lunch in Amsterdam Oud-Zuid. But is this also fun during the day with kids? We ordered a 'plain' version of the Farmhouse burger 🍔: yes, really just meat + cheese 🤣… and together with the fries it was a mega success. Child happy, us happy… and it was such a cozy, rainy afternoon. I mean this interior, I immediately dream away to the Cotswolds again! Do you have a favorite 𝗸𝗶𝗱 𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗹𝘆 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝘁 in Amsterdam or the Netherlands? Corn mazes in the Netherlands as a new late summer and autumn tradition

Just like with HalloweenCreating and visiting a corn maze is a fun tradition that has come over from America. And as with all things American, you either love it or hate it! I personally love the Indian summer and autumn. And how much fun is it to do something fun with the kids outdoors? For these tips, don't forget to bring your boots! An extra set of clean clothes for the kids is also handy if you're visiting these corn mazes in the Netherlands.

Tip: go to a corn maze in the Netherlands with the kids

Especially when my son was a toddler and preschooler, I searched every week for something fun to do on my mommy day that perfectly matched the season. Next time, consider a corn maze! Anyone who thinks we'd have to spend ages in the car for that is mistaken. Did you know that almost every province in the Netherlands has its own corn maze? In this list, I've compiled all the corn mazes I've spotted in the Netherlands. We're going exploring in North Holland soon! Have fun with the kid-friendly tips from this list.

Don't forget to always check the organization's website beforehand for up-to-date information and opening hours. Because it's a nature outing, these are subject to change.

14 of the best corn mazes in the Netherlands

Corn maze The Drentse Koe – Ruinerwold, Drenthe

Anyone who's ever been to Drenthe might have taken their kids to the Drentse Koe play farm. This is perhaps one of the most famous corn mazes in the Netherlands. From July to the end of October, a visit becomes even more enjoyable with the opening of the nearly one-hectare corn maze. During the exciting walk through the cornfield, an extra play element has been added, with various columns that you can "pump" with your foot. The pumping action and the kinetic energy generated by the action play music and ask questions about the farm. There are different questions for every age group. Good to know: admission to the corn maze is included in the regular admission to De Drentse Koe, where there's plenty of fun for kids year-round. drentsekoe.nl

Corn maze – Malden, Gelderland

There's so much to see, do, and learn for all ages at this rural location in Malden, Gelderland. Besides the corn maze, which opens every year around July, there are also American farm games to enjoy. Play ladder golf or cornhole, for example. There are also trampolines and laser tag (sometimes even in the maze at night!). Visitors can bring their own lunch and enjoy it at various picnic tables around the grounds. Snacks and drinks are also available for purchase at the corn maze. maisdoolhof.nl

Corn maze – Voorthuizen, Gelderland

One of the most diverse corn mazes in the Netherlands, because there's so much more to do. The corn maze in Voorthuizen is perfect for a day out with little kids. End the day with delicious fries, sandwiches, or ice cream. maisdoolhofvoorthuizen.nl

Corn maze Hof van Overveld – Prinsenbeek, North Brabant

The Hof van Overveld corn maze has been open again since July. In September, the corn is at its peak, and even adults can't see the way. The maze is open to the public daily from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Each year, the maze has a different theme. hofvanoverveld.nl

Brandevoortse Farm – Helmond, North Brabant

Starting in July, you can enter the enormous corn maze at the Brandevoortse Hoeve in Helmond for €6. This corn maze is especially fun for children and is therefore geared towards them. A fun detail: adults can accompany children for free. You can register for the maze at the farm shop. The maze is open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Tuesday through Sunday, and until the end of September. In addition to the corn maze, the Brandevoortse Hoeve also has a play barn, and in the spring, asparagus and strawberries are harvested there. debrandevoortsehoeve.nl

Corn maze D'ELF IEKEN – Elsloo, Friesland

Since 2007, D'ELF IEKEN has organized an annual corn maze. This might even be one of the oldest corn mazes in the Netherlands! This year, a labyrinth has been created on the over one-hectare corn field, perfect for the whole family to explore. Just like in previous years, as you approach the observation tower in the center of the field, you'll encounter signs with various challenges to make finding your way a real game. Besides the corn maze, the grounds also feature a mini-campsite, food and drink outlets, and both indoor and outdoor playgrounds (open until the end of October). elf-ieken.nl

The corn maze in Uden is open every year until the end of September. maisdoolhofudenhout.weebly.com

Corn maze at Bouwlust Farm – Maasland, South Holland

Hoeve Bouwlust is a great place for an afternoon or morning with the kids, as they offer fun activities year-round and even have a local shop. From mid-July to mid-September, there's a corn maze with a unique GPS-guided discovery trail. Whether the corn maze will reopen this year is still unknown. However, there are plenty of other fun things to do on the farm! hoevebouwlust.nl

Corn maze Nederweert – Nederweert, Limburg

The cornfield at Gommers Ice Cream Farm has once again been transformed into the Netherlands' largest corn maze. The maze is the size of five football fields! Each year, the maze has a new theme and accompanying activities. This year's maze is unfortunately already over; starting in mid-July, you can get lost again in the corn maze at Gommers Ice Cream Farm in Nederweert. maisdoolhofnederweert.nl

Corn Maze Labyrinth of the King – Klaaswaal, South Holland

For a modest fee, young and old can get lost in the Koningshoeve grounds on Botweg in Klaaswaal. The maze offers various junctions where questions can be discovered. Answering the question correctly leads to the right path. The maze is generally open from late July to late September or the first weekend of October. Whether the maze will open this year has not yet been announced on the website. View the website here >>

The Twentsche Bloemenpluktuin (Twente Flower Picking Garden) is also located on the grounds of the Groot Twentsch Maize Maze. Beautiful cut flowers in every shade of the rainbow adorn this 3000-square-meter garden. Here you can create a beautiful bouquet to give as a gift or to keep for yourself.
