The city I couldn't escape quickly enough to study in the big city, and where I rarely visited for a while because I thought there was nothing to do. But Middelburg has stolen my heart again in recent years!

Young entrepreneurs are opening food and retail spots that rival the hotspots in the Randstad. And to escape the big city, I find a few nights in Middelburg, with the beautiful Zeeland beaches just a fifteen-minute drive away, one of the best combinations for a weekend getaway.
