De Baarsjes is alive! It's a neighborhood just outside the city center, home to all sorts of trendy cafes, restaurants, and coffee shops.
Most hotspots are located along Jan Evertsenstraat and around Mercatorplein, an area where Amsterdam's hipsters like to spend their balmy summer evenings or lazy weekend afternoons enjoying drinks. Popular spots include the local pub Bar Baarsch or the always cozy Bar Bacon on the corner, where you can sit comfortably with a glass of wine by the water. You can also eat well there, from breakfast to dinner. Just like at the somewhat hidden Cafe Cook, Where, besides the cozy living room atmosphere inside, you also have all-day sunshine on their patio. Excellent!
Looking for a quiet spot? Rembrandtpark and Erasmuspark are just around the corner. But there's so much more to see! We've compiled a list of all the hotspots in De Baarsjes for you in this Baarsjes Guide.
