Amsterdam East is up and coming! This diverse neighborhood seems to be bursting with great spots, and there are still plenty of hidden gems to discover. East owes its charm to the mix of different cultures and the fresh influence of young creatives. Close to the city center, yet offering a completely different Amsterdam experience.
There's something for everyone. East has it all. Hip coffee shops, rugged warehouses, trendy cocktail bars—you name it! Czaar Peterstraat promises to become the new Nine Streets. You'll find all sorts of trendy shops here. A visit to the adjacent Roest is definitely a must-do on a sunny day! Javastraat is a bit more multicultural, with everything from kebab shops to boutiques. If your legs aren't tired yet, stroll through Dappermarkt or Oosterpark.
