6 X movies you want to see in the cinema this month

Today I’m sharing the 6 cinema movies who can’t be missed in January. Think of movies with a lot of motivation and lovely family ones. Which movie are you watching this month in the big red chair? And maybe even nicer, with who are you going on a movie date?

1. La La Land

Our favorite actor Ryan Gosling is shining on the big screen this January. This year in the romantic movie musical La La Land where Ryan as Sebastian, a jazz pianist, falls for the beautiful Mia (Emma Stone), a waitress with a dream to become an actress in the big city. Together they perform in pubs and try to conquer Hollywood. While time passes by they fall in love and they’re getting more and more famous every day. But is their love resistant to the hectic life full of temptations and disappointments of the big city?

2. De Zevende Hemel

De Zevende Hemel is a lovely Dutch movie for the whole family who can’t be missed this month. Maria and Max are the owners of a beautiful Italian restaurant De Zevende Hemel. When Marie incurable appears to be ill, she wants to go to Italy with the whole family for a memorable trip. A great idea that seems to be more difficult than expected. Old quarrels, relationship problems and the jubilee of the family restaurants are making it impossible. Will she succeed?

Cineville: Het Ketelhuis

3. A Street Cat Named Bob

The movie A Street Cat Named Bob is based on the book by James Bowen. The homeless drug addict James has a chaotic and awful life. Until James gets unexpected help from a cat, Bob the cat. James can barely take care of himself, but still takes care of the red cat. The two are inseparable and even get famous together. A wonderful film with a lot of motivation.

4. Why Him

Ned is an anxious but loving father who decides to visit his daughter Stephanie for the holidays. When the family arrives they immediately meet Stephanie’s new boyfriend Laird (James Franco), a wealthy and famous, ordinary internet entrepreneur, with a pretty big mouth. Ned doesn’t like this guy at all and get the fright of his life when Laird asks for permission to marry his daughter. Ned tries everything to thwart Laird what makes Why Him a hilarious movie, perfect for the cold Winter days.

Pathé: Pathé Arena, Pathé de Munt
Cineville: Trianon

5. Onze Jongens

Onze Jongens is by far the hottest movie of the year and perfect for starting 2017 with. Jorrit (Jim Bakkum) is coming back to The Netherlands after years of working. His ex-wife and disappointed son are not really excited about it. Jorrit decides to drop by at the construction company ‘Onze Jongens’ of his friend Bas, where things are also not going well. The guys try to find a solution and know because of Jorrit right away what to do. Women are waiting in line for the muscular body of their new colleague, and so they decide to quit doing what they always did and start stripping. They’re a big hit and everything seems to be going very well, until their private environment finds out what they are doing every day…

Pathé: Pathé Arena, Pathé de Munt, Pathé Tuschinski

6. Brimstone

The Dutch producer Martin Koolhoven made a real Hollywood blockbuster with Brimstone. The story is dark, very dark and happens at the end of the 19th century. It’s a western noir with great music from Junkie XL. This horror movie and thriller is about the life of Liz, a young woman who’s life changes dramatically when a new reverend is coming to her town. Nice to know: Carice van Houten and Kit Harington who both play in Game of Thrones are starring in this movie!
