Have you ever heard of a city winery? If not, that's perfectly understandable – we only recently opened the very first one in the Netherlands! It's Chateau Amsterdam in Amsterdam Noord. But what exactly does a city winery entail? Here's a quick explanation. After the grapes are harvested in their country of origin, they are transported to Amsterdam. There, the grapes are then selected a second time, vinified, and aged. So, the final winemaking process takes place within our city walls. How cool! Chateau Amsterdam's mission is to bring production and consumption closer together. This way, we city dwellers can become more familiar with how our wine is actually made.

Besides buying wine at Chateau Amsterdam, you can also participate in various activities. For example, a wine tasting, where you'll be given a tour of the entire aging process and learn more about all the wines Chateau Amsterdam offers. And of course, the wine tasting is part of it ;-). Are you more interested in how the wine is made and want to learn more? Then the winemaker tour might be just what you're looking for. Here, you'll join the winemaker himself and learn the winemaking process from start to finish. Check out the website of Chateau Amsterdam For more information. How fun would that be as a girls' outing? I'll definitely be there ;-).
Happy travels!
WITH LOVE,
WIEKE
