Camping in the Netherlands; if the weather permits, it is incredibly enjoyable. Of course, there are plenty of trendy campsites in the Netherlands But honestly... when I go to a campsite, I sometimes don't feel like running into half of Amsterdam and having to think about how I'll look. That's why it was time for a list of fun campsites and glamping sites in the Netherlands that aren't too trendy, but are still great places to stay with the kids. Many of the campsites on this list also offer glamping accommodations. The list was compiled with tips from readers who love camping, and I've even tested a few of the glamping sites myself! It's not surprising that you haven't heard of these 26 campsites yet, considering how much beautiful nature there is in the Netherlands. Whether you prefer to sleep in your own tent, at a glamping site, or in a mobile home, there's plenty to choose from!

HOME ALONE 4 INCOMING 😅 My trip to NYC ends in a bad (Christmas) movie when the hotel gives my carry-on luggage with passport to an old lady who doesn't realize this and checks the luggage on a flight to the UK!
Now I'm stuck here in NY without a passport, and I missed my flight.
I've experienced a lot in all the years I've been traveling for Your Little Black Book, but this is a first 😅.
This chat video is purely therapeutic in nature 🤣🤣🤣. Because really: HOW?! 🫢
Note to self: it's better to carry your passport all day, instead of leaving it "safely" in the hotel, apparently... and from now on, attach suitcases with cables in the storage room. Even if you're staying in a luxurious and expensive hotel, everything is still done by humans.
Now I'm stuck in one of the world's coolest cities, but of course I just want to be home with Manuel, as planned. 😔
To be continued 🧳✈️
And thanks for all the sweet DMs ❤️❤️❤️❤️

How cool is this? There are places in the Netherlands where you can cut down your own Christmas tree! You don't hear about it very often, even though it's quite common in America (where I'm currently!).
Good to know: some of these places in the Netherlands are only open for a few days a year and you have to reserve a time slot.
💬 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 “𝗞𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗧𝗕𝗢𝗢𝗠” and I will send you the article with all the details and dates in your DM.
Have fun!

This time we went to @williams.farmhouse, one of my favorite lunch spots in Amsterdam Oud-Zuid. But is it also fun during the day with kids?
We ordered a 'plain' version of the Farmhouse burger 🍔: yes, really just meat + cheese 🤣… and together with the fries it was a mega success.
Happy child, happy us... and it was such a cozy, rainy afternoon. I mean, this interior makes me dream of the Cotswolds again!

After a day exploring Harderwijk, you can spend the night across Lake Veluwe in Zeewolde at a true glamping site. This campsite is called De Parel, and I booked a few nights there with our son shortly after they opened. I don't need to tell you how fabulous this glamping site is. You won't find bright purple tents here, but luxurious lodges and beautiful glamping tents. The campsite has its own beach where you can swim or paddleboard in the summer. The packages are also great, like the wellness package or the culinary box for your own barbecue.

© The Pearl
The Sallandse Heuvelrug is a beautiful nature reserve in the east of the country. This area in Overijssel is therefore home to some of the best campsites in the Netherlands. Sallandse Farm You'll be brimming with activities. The kids can enjoy themselves on the go-karts, in the playground, or in the play pond, while you can relax in the massage parlor or go on an adventure with the e-choppers. Camp here with your own tent, rent a holiday home, a safari tent, or the XL cottage for large groups (up to 8 people).

© Sallandse Hoeve
The green Twente region has a lot to offer, from charming villages to large cities like Enschede and Deventer. Perfect day trips during camping at MölkeYou can rent a boat here, or on less sunny days, head to the bowling alley or (perhaps every evening) to the diner. It's child-friendly, by the way, so you can even let the little ones sleep over upon request. There are glamping tents, sturdy tree houses, and even children's bungalows, each with its own theme.

© Mölke
Prefer to choose your own location? Then take a look at campspaceThis is the Airbnb of campsites. Ideal if you're looking for pure peace and quiet and don't want to be surrounded by ten to 100 tents. You can camp in someone's backyard or on an estate, for example. You might even have a few ponies grazing around you. Small parks are also available. Filter by extras like a sauna and restrooms, and specify where you'll be staying. Are you bringing a campervan or would you rather rent a yurt? There are plenty of options to choose from.

© Campspace
There are a number of nice campsites in the Netherlands near Ommen. OmmerlandThere's plenty to see and do nearby, with endless cycling and hiking trails, as well as attractions like windmills and castles. You can rent lodges and lounges with saunas, or camp yourself with a tent or caravan. The campsite has an outdoor and indoor pool with a water slide, a climbing park, its own supermarket, and even a play area for dogs.

Let's be honest, some people just aren't cut out for camping life. A nice glamping tent is one thing, but trying to handle those poles and pegs yourself is out of the question! Are you one of them? Then take a look at All CampsThese are the best campsites in the Netherlands if you want to camp in luxury. They offer comfortable villa tents with private bathrooms. There are various locations in the Netherlands, but you can also go to France and beyond.

Staying at a farm. How cool is that? Farmcamps is a great site for booking your family vacation. It's fully equipped for kids' entertainment, but we also enjoyed plenty of luxury and comfort in one of the safari tents. Our own kitchen, lovely patio—it's a wonderful place to stay. Farms are scattered throughout the country, and a short online introduction gives you a glimpse into the lives of farming families. The fantastic weather guarantee is a real bonus, so rebooking is free!

Easily search for cottages to rent or book a camping spot, whether you bring your pet or not, by the beach or lake, or perhaps in the woods. This gem is wonderfully located in Renesse, Zeeland. Fun fact: the Vecht River was overcrowded in 2018 and the Koeksegeul was dug as a solution. Camping de Koeksebelt It's located inland and is therefore a true island. It's great for swimming in the summer. You can stay in apartments, unique accommodations like a treehouse or hiker's cabin, and of course, simply at the campsite. You can also reserve a spot by the water. Water sports rentals and a play beach are also a must. There's also a heated swimming pool and a cozy brasserie for a good glass of wine.

© Koeksebelt
For children the Zandstuve A paradise on earth. This campsite is also called a camping village, and that sounds just as cozy as it actually is. This is one of the best campsites in the Netherlands if you're looking for plenty of entertainment. Located in Overijssel, the campsite even has its own app that makes it easy to see what's on. Overnight stays include glamping, chalets, and group accommodations for 10-12 people.

© Zandstuve
Drenthe is full of history, but also full of the best campsites in the Netherlands. Camping White summer Located near Assen, it features an outdoor pool, a swimming pond, and a fun playground for kids. You can stay in hotel rooms (which are essentially regular bungalows), chalets, holiday homes, at the regular campsite, or on pitches with private bathrooms. Convenient if you don't want to queue for the restroom. And if the Dutch weather is awful, there's a bowling alley and an indoor playground.

© Witterzomer
De Kleine Wolf is Campsite of the Year 2022. On a beautiful plot surrounded by rows of trees, you'll find a cozy, inviting, and secluded spot in the Vechtdal region. The campsite has car-free fields, which makes it even more relaxing. Where you used to only be able to pitch a tent, you can now also stay overnight in luxury in a large farmhouse, the wooden haystack, or other stylish wooden bungalows. A special highlight of this campsite is the animal meadow where you can find alpacas, goats, wallabies, and deer. You can fish (license-free) in the new fishing pond and swim in one of the swimming pools (indoor and outdoor).
Coevorderweg 25, Stegeren – dekleinewolf.nl

Another nice campsite in the Netherlands is Water forest, also from Molecaten, so you already know how to search for the right accommodation here. This campsite is conveniently located on Rockanje beach, nestled among the dunes. The campsite has its own restaurant where you can enjoy tapas and soak up the summer sun on the terrace. For water lovers, besides the sea, there's also the opportunity to swim in the outdoor pool and the fishing and swimming pond.

© The Seagull
The Veluwe, a place many city dwellers flock to to escape the honking and apartment buildings. That's why it's also a popular spot for great campsites in the Netherlands. Here you'll find, among other things, campsite de BoshoekWhere you can not only get away for a weekend in a hotel room or holiday home, but also spend the Dutch summer in a caravan. This is a sustainable recreation park with a full entertainment program and its own café.

© De Boshoek
A dip in the pool, strolling through the market in Winterswijk, or just reading a book at camping de Twee BruggenThis is a campsite with many possibilities and, above all, plenty of comfort. Even camping in comfort XL. What does that mean? A pitch of 150m². Besides old-school camping, you can also stay at the glamping site or in a cottage. The Slingeplas Recreation Area is within walking distance. It has a lovely beach where you can even barbecue.

© The Two Bridges
We can't get enough of the Veluwe. Also Molecaten Estate Can be found here. Yes indeed, one more. I told you this site had a lot to offer. This holiday park is nice and small and, despite a packed children's program, offers plenty of peace and quiet. This campsite is beautifully situated in the woods and is great for cycling. Because of all those monumental trees, you're bound to spot a squirrel while doing your morning dishes. This park is suitable for both seasonal campers and short breaks. Pets are welcome!

© Molecaten Estate
Mimosa or Samoza? Even more delicious. Enjoy it on your camping chair or in your own lounge at your forest chalet. It always tastes good on holiday. Holiday park Samoza It's incredibly diverse, almost like a village in the Veluwe region. A wide variety of houses are available for rent alongside the charming camping fields. The park boasts a large outdoor swimming pool with a slide, and you can even bring your horse on holiday here. There are 18 luxury stables and a paddock. And did we mention that dogs are also welcome at the campsite?

© Samoza
A 5-star children's campsite. If you don't want your kids to be bored, you should go to camping De Berenkuil in Drenthe. At this campsite, they believe a campsite should remain purely a campsite, hence no holiday homes or cars. Pure nature, nice and safe for the kids, and also very cozy. Okay, no worries, there are also some log cabins, so you're not forced to sit on your air mattress in your tent. There are numerous small playgrounds, a play pond on the beach, and an outdoor swimming pool.

© BEARKUT
Heathland Park It's among the best campsites in the Netherlands, but also one of the most welcoming. It's the perfect base for a day trip. It's located near Hellendoorn, so the adventure park or Slagharen are definitely recommended for a day out. There's also plenty to do at the park itself. Bikes and go-karts are available for rent, there's an outdoor swimming pool, and a play loft with a ball pit. The kids will go wild on a rainy day. You can camp on a pitch with electricity, or rent a safari tent or mobile home.

© Heidepark
Camping Vreehorst Situated in a beautiful green area with both an indoor and an outdoor pool. There's a snack bar for a hearty bite in the warm sunshine, and private bathrooms to rinse off the chlorine. A great feature of this campsite in Winterswijk is the unique accommodations, such as the ecolodge or the skycabin. Hopefully, you're not sleepwalking! You can use the campsite's laundry facilities and book the sauna for some me-time.

© Vreehorst
The Witteberg Located in Ootmarsum, a charming farming village in Twente, it's also a vibrant artsy village. The campsite is close to the Springendal nature reserve, which boasts a natural swimming spring amidst a wooded area. It's even called the "garden of the Netherlands." The campsite offers holiday homes and bungalows for both summer and winter. Perfect for families or groups of up to six people. Consider the luxury tented villa. The restrooms on the campsite include family bathrooms and baby changing rooms.

© De Witteberg
We'll stay in Overijssel for a while. Camping The Fox Castle According to followers of Your Little Black Book, it's also one of the nicer campsites in the Netherlands. This time, it's located in the Staphorst area. This campsite offers spacious pitches, a glamping site with tree houses, and an outdoor swimming pool. A recreational pond is a few kilometers away. Enjoy a bite to eat at the snack bar or the on-site restaurant, after a visit to the playground, of course. The restaurant's menu is already available online. Not bad for a campsite.

© The Fox Castle
Camping Betuwe Located in Kesteren, Gelderland, this is a delightful spot by the water, nestled among orchards. The campsite has a cozy brasserie where you can relax on the terrace for hours in the summer while the teenagers enjoy the activities program. Choose a safari tent by the water (up to 8 people) or pitch your tent sheltered under the trees. There are designated paved pitches for campervans in the campervan field.
