Louie Louie
On January 1, Louie Louie kicks off with their annual Bottomless Brunch. They serve a delightful three-course menu, unlimited cava for three hours, and a cocktail of your choice, all while continuing the New Year’s party with DJ Randy West. Hangover or not, you don’t want to miss this brunch (and it’s only €45, including drinks). Reserve your spot here >>

Badhuis Amsterdam
Badhuis on Javaplein is another go-to spot on January 1 in Amsterdam Oost. From lunch to dinner, enjoy the cozy atmosphere and beautiful interior while recovering from New Year’s Eve. Their snack menu never disappoints, and their dinner options are just as amazing: the black tiger prawns from their charcoal BBQ are worth waking up for!

Ami
On January 1, Café Ami in De Pijp opens its doors at 11:00 AM – perfect for a leisurely brunch to start the new year. Later in the day, you can enjoy their famous cheese fondue. Deliciously cheesy, super cozy, and exactly what you need after a festive night. Oh, and did we mention their amazing Esma’s cocktails? Just saying! Even later in the evening, you can stop by for a New Year’s drink.

Arie
A good start is half the battle, and Arie knows it well. On January 1 – or januARIE, as they call it – they ring in the new year with live music and bubbles. Whether you’re up for a nice lunch, a casual bite, or a liquid lunch with drinks and bitterballen, this spot in De Pijp has you covered. Try their famous steak tartare or, if you’re craving recovery food after New Year’s Eve, their irresistible Arie’s double smash cheeseburger.

IJver
Start the new year relaxed at IJver, the cosy café in the iconic NDSM warehouse. This spot is also great for kids, with a play area and vintage arcade machines. The beer selection is extensive, and the snacks are exactly what you need to kick off the new year.

Marcella
One of my favourite spots to meet up with friends with kids of the same age. While the little ones play on the Amstelveld, you can enjoy a New Year’s drink with friends on the heated terrace and keep an eye on them. Have a New Year’s date? This cosy bar is perfect for evening drinks with tasty snacks.

Polly
In my opinion, one of the best café-restaurants in Noord since its opening, where you can go all day for drinks and more. Planning to meet friends for drinks on January 1 and need a spot in Amsterdam-Noord, preferably close to the ferry? Polly is the place! And their smash burger will be the best medicine if you’re nursing a small hangover.

Bar Bonnie
Bar Bonnie quickly became a favourite for drinks with delicious bites. It always gives me Parisian vibes. Even in colder weather, I prefer to sit on the terrace under the heater with a drink, watching people. If it snows on January 1, you’ll still enjoy yourself inside with drinks, snacks, and perhaps a more substantial meal. The perfect spot for a New Year’s drink in Oud-Zuid!

Start the new year at Café Nieuw Amsterdam, a modern bistro where you can enjoy good food with friends and a fine glass of wine. Whether you prefer to drink at the high tables or at the cozy bar, this is the ideal spot for a New Year’s drink in the heart of Amsterdam.

Kanarie Club
For drinks with friends, this spot is always a good choice. The Kanarie Club opens on January 1 at 11:00 AM, but we can imagine you and your friends joining a bit later for a drink! No worries, as you can enjoy drinks here until late and maybe catch a movie at De Filmhallen afterward.

‘t Blauwe Theehuis
Fancy a walk around Vondelpark (with the kids) and then a drink? The iconic Blauwe Theehuis remains a great spot for drinks. Their beer selection is extensive, and their bar snacks might taste even better after a New Year’s Eve party.
