Atmosphere and interior at Café Twee Prinsen Amsterdam

Jokingly got the stool of Twee Prinsen in 2022 its own Instagram accountThe stools have now been (partly) replaced by slightly more comfortable versions, but the somewhat cluttered terrace of the Twee Prinsen remains iconic.

Since early 2022, this café has been a city institution. Locals and day trippers can't seem to get away from it. And you can't blame them: in and around this corner building on the corner of Prinsenstraat and Prinsengracht, the sun always seems to shine. And if it really doesn't, you can snuggle up inside with a glass of red wine and perhaps a board game.

The interior of Twee Prinsen is bright and wood-paneled. It has a touch of a traditional Dutch pub meets wine bar, albeit in its most modern form. All in all, it's a cozy yet inviting place. Anyone who fancies a cup of coffee, a glass of wine, or some non-alcoholic bubbly is more than welcome.

Menu and dishes at Café Twee Prinsen

Besides the (natural) wines and pet nats, Café Twee Prinsen has a superb menu of tasty bites and small dishes. Anyone who wants to enjoy a leisurely drink here certainly won't leave hungry. In fact, the menu satisfies your hunger enough to avoid having to dine out. What do they serve here? A changing menu, including sourdough (baguette) bread, sardines, butter beans in red sauce, rillettes, cime di rapa, and more.

Besides wines by the glass, they have an extensive bottle list, which the staff lovingly pulls from the cellar. There's also no shortage of ciders and alcohol-free options.
