I love old buildings given a new purpose. For example, the Hotel de Goudfazant restaurant in Amsterdam has been one of my all-time favorites for years.Read my blog about Hotel de Goudfazant Amsterdam here). Good news, then, the team behind the Goudfazant has opened a second restaurant in Amsterdam North! Cafe Modern Amsterdam is Located in a building that once housed the Drenthe (?!) bank, the homely vintage design interior instantly makes you feel at home. Authentic elements recall the building's former life. For example, the vault in the basement has been converted into a restroom. Enjoy a delicious four-course menu that changes daily. I always find it a delightful surprise when a restaurant adopts a Table d'Hote concept. The freshest seasonal ingredients every day :-). At Cafe Modern Amsterdam Noord, it's a pleasant, long dinner, as everyone chooses the set menu. Is there something you're not particularly fond of? The chef will happily adjust your plate. Cafe Modern Amsterdam is a welcome addition to the list of restaurants in Amsterdam Noord!
