The Prinsenstraat keeps improving, with Café de Knoop Amsterdam as one of the newest additions. Close to Christiaan Smit, Kikkie’s, Café de Twee Prinsen, and a stone’s throw from the Noordermarkt, you’ll now find this cosy spot that strongly resembles a classic brown café.

Atmosphere and interior at Café de Knoop Amsterdam
You could call it a classic brown café: the interior of Café de Knoop Amsterdam is dark and cosy. There’s seating at tables, at the bar, and on the sofa – perfect by the fireplace. There’s also space for organised evenings with live music and comedy – several have already taken place, with more planned.
Although Café Knoop was set up by the minds behind Those Dam Boat Guys – a tour organisation that arranges canal tours through Amsterdam – it’s a place for locals.
Menu and dishes at Café de Knoop
With a cosy setting and a very convenient location in the heart of Amsterdam, the menu is just as down to earth as the café itself. It has something like Café de Linden and Enté, but it is less chic.
The menu features (self-brewed) draft beer, various wines, soft drinks, and some snacks. It’s just good, without too much fuss or frills. Above all, it’s a place for entertainment and atmosphere.

Fancy some casual drinks or an evening of comedy? Then Café de Knoop is the right place for you. Lounging by the fireplace is also an option – even with a cup of coffee during the day.
