Great news for De Pijp, as this neighborhood has a new restaurant. Café Caron on Frans Halsstraat is a family business owned by none other than TV chef Alain Caron and his sons Tom and David. Café Caron opened last weekend!
Café Caron occupies the former location of Café Van Hoeck, on the corner of Eerste Jacob van Campenstraat and Frans Halsstraat. I saw the first photos on social media last weekend. A cozy French eatery with wooden furniture and, for a change, a rather unsophisticated interior. At least, that's the first impression! We hear buzz about French cuisine in the corridors. Our immediate thoughts are extensive cheese platters and fine wines—could it be, could it be?
Father Alain Caron has already indicated that Café Caron Amsterdam will become a place where you can easily pop in for a good bite. Sounds like a great idea! Keep an eye on the Facebook page of Café Caron or Your Little Black Book for the latest updates!
