BunBun Amsterdam is the ultimate hotspot and place to be for cinnamon bun lovers. At BunBun, you'll find hand-rolled cinnamon rolls from their own kitchen, plain or in a variety of flavors. From savory to sweet, there's something for everyone. Extra delicious: they also have the viral square croissants.
BunBun is a tiny shop at the head of Prinsengracht, on the edge of Westerstraat, and adjacent to Noordermarkt. It's the kind of place you've probably passed by, or perhaps you'd rather avoid on weekends because of the crowds. That will change from now on, because just the smell of BunBun will tempt you back into the hustle and bustle of the city center.
You might know this place from the previous Oatly Soft Serve pop-up shop or the pop-up bakery that sold crompouces. Before these various pop-ups, there was an ice cream shop. BunBun is a keeper – because what's more timeless than a good cinnamon bun or a fresh croissant? You don't have to be a tourist to fall in love with it.
At BunBun, it's all about homemade croissants and cinnamon buns. They go beyond the traditional chocolate and almond croissant, as they also serve the popular square croissants with pistachio (you won't believe your taste buds!), cheesecake filling, apple-cinnamon, and other sweet flavors. Prefer savory? You've come to the right place. The burrata, pesto, and Parma ham bun is a must-try, as is the bacon and cheese version. And of course, a bun like this deserves good coffee, which you can also order at BunBun. Another reason to explore this hotspot.
