After a short winter break, Hotel Buiten on the Sloterplas will reopen at the end of April. From then on, the establishment will operate under the name BUITEN Strandcafé en Restaurant, including a number of renovations. Here's what we know so far about this hotspot in Nieuw-West.
No car, but still craving the beach? No problem, because you can quickly reach BUITEN Beach Café and Restaurant by metro or bike. And upon closer inspection, the Sloterplas lake turns out to be a pleasant chaos in the summer with day trippers, playing children, young families, and guests of the new BUITEN.
Although Hotel Buiten was declared bankrupt earlier last year, hospitality entrepreneurs Jos van Heese (Bar Hout) and Reinout Ezinga (IJVER) see potential in the place. They want to transform BUITEN back into a pleasant neighborhood spot, open year-round and welcoming to everyone.
The menu for BUITEN Beach Café and Restaurant is not yet known. What we do know is that BUITEN will be open six days a week from 11:00 AM. You can enjoy a leisurely lunch, drinks, and dinner. With this new beach pavilion in Amsterdam West Escape the hustle and bustle of Amsterdam for a moment, without having to leave the city. Ideal for a leisurely summer lunch or Friday afternoon drinks, for example. And when the temperature rises, the area surrounding BUITEN offers the perfect opportunity to take a refreshing dip in the Sloterplas lake.
Fun fact: the pavilion is an official wedding venue, and the new owners plan to host several weddings each year. We're eagerly awaiting the first images and, of course, our first visit.
