For the tastiest Chinese pastries, Hoi Tin is a must-visit. From sweet custard buns to our favourite pork bun, they have it all. The buns are freshly prepared in the bakery every day and sell like hotcakes. Go early to secure your bun. Craving dim sum or other delicious Chinese dishes? That’s an option too.

Every day from 18:00 onwards, you are welcome to join for the hot meal at R. de Rosa. A simple but always delicious dish + a glass of wine for €16.50. Ideal if you don’t feel like cooking.

The Foodhallen in Amsterdam-West may not be very cheap, but if you play it smart, you can definitely get enough food for 15 pounds. For instance, opt for a platter with falafel and various types of hummus or a burger with fries. The sushi is also very tasty and filling!

In my opinion, the most delicious chicken is truly at Van ‘t Spit. Add a tasty corn on the cob and sweet potato mash… YUM! What’s more, it’s always pleasantly busy here and guaranteed to be a place where you end up staying longer than you intended.

Delicious, fresh, and affordable pasta! It’s become a true institution in Amsterdam with several locations. It’s not entirely budget-friendly, but it’s very tasty; finishing off with the homemade scroppino is a must. So good!

De Biertuin

Biertuin in Amsterdam offers tasty chicken and equally delicious burgers. It’s also a cosy spot for drinks, and the food is good and affordable. Highly recommended!

A Spanish Tapas night is always a good idea! The beauty is, you can make it as expensive or budget-friendly as you want. Patatas bravas and bread with aioli are always delicious. Don’t forget to order a Spanish wine to go with it – it’s a must! Enjoy :-)

This pizza spot also has multiple locations in Amsterdam. So, you never have to cycle far for pizza! Always a bustling spot, and the pizzas are deliciously fresh.

I LOVE Thai food! And this spot offers affordable and delicious Thai dishes. A relaxed atmosphere, and the curry’s are a recommendation here.

At Eddy Spaghetti, it feels like you’re dining in a cosy living room. The pastas are superb, especially the Arrabiata if you like it nice and spicy :-) Adding Burrata makes it a complete feast.

Boi Boi

Another affordable Thai spot, located in the East of Amsterdam is Boi Boi. Their dishes are really tasty. I usually go for the green curry, but the other dishes are recommended too. Be sure to check out the daily specials!

Craving Surinamese food? YES please! Especially with a bit of sunshine, you’re in for a treat here (and that’s not exactly a well-kept secret anymore ;-) ) with a beer and some food.

A super spacious terrace with charming tables, delightful beer, and juicy burgers. That only means one thing: Brouwerij Troost is a great place to be!

A well known café in Spaarndammerstraat. Often still very busy into the late hours, but also recommended visiting earlier in the evening for pub bites.

A cosy brown pub in a modern setting. At Café Kiebert’s you can enjoy a classic egg sandwich or a good bitterbal, and in the evening, you will have a tasty pasta or a well-filled salad.

In autumn and winter, this is one of my favourite places for drinks and bites. Unfortunately, no terrace, but it’s a reliable go-to if you want something delicious to eat without breaking the bank. They also have plenty of specials every day!
