Cows in the meadow and long tables with organic food!
While writing this blog I’m still thinking back of the amazing brunch I had with readers of Your Little Black Book at the property of biological farmer Henk Jan. Imagine a clear blue sky, over 20 degrees, cows in the meadow, colourful lampoons and a long table which is decorated super cute.
Together with 5 readers and their friends I had the honour to learn all about the daily life at a biological dairy farm of Campina BOER en LAND while having a delicious biological brunch. Hard to believe that the Ekohoeve farm where farmer Henk Jan lives is only a 20 minute drive from Amsterdam.
This is how a biological farm works!
Just like the 140 other farmer families Henk Jan is a supplier of BOER en LAND, the biological products of Campina ranging from: milk to yoghurt and cheese and butter. We get a full tour around the farm and learn all about what makes the difference at a biological farms. I really enjoy the view of the cows on the meadows!
During the tour we can ask Henk Jan all about the difference between a normal farm and a biological farm. There are no chemical fertilisers used at this farm. This makes the cows more healthy and all the products pure and natural.
Weed and grass can grow freely at the farm of Henk Jan and all these different kinds of flowers in the meadow are contributing to the rich and creamy flavour of BOER en LAND products.
Brunch under the trees
After the tour we enjoyed the tasting of the products of BOER en LAND during a very nice brunch. For me it was lovely to talk about the daily life with my readers while enjoying the delicious food.
Great organic bread with BOER en LAND cheese and quiche made with BOER en LAND butter and organic veggies. Yummy! As dessert we had a fresh smoothie with BOER en LAND yoghurt and Dutch strawberries.

Picnic in the park, win a picnic basket!
As an Amsterdam girl I immediately had to think about a brunch picnic with friends in the park. My favourite way to spend a sunny weekend! Choosing the recipes for the sandwiches and quiches is always such great fun for a foodie.
