16 of the most delicious brunches in Amsterdam East for the perfect weekend

Brunch is always a good idea, right? Because brunch basically means a nice, late, and deliciously extensive breakfast. Often preceded by a good lie-in, it's a popular Sunday activity. So, here's a great list for the weekend: 16 x the most delicious brunch in Amsterdam Oost!

Breman Brasserie

Our city's second Hoxton Hotel houses Breman Brasserie, where you can enjoy brunch like you're not used to in the Netherlands. Think quinoa granola, a BB croque madame, smashed avocado toast, butter waffles with fruit compote, or wild mushrooms with a scrambled egg. You'd love to order everything and fill the table with it.

Bathhouse

Before opening their doors earlier this year, the owners asked local residents what they hoped the renovated Badhuis would become, and most agreed: a place that represents connection. In whatever form that takes: from communal game nights to music programming, to an "extension of your living room." And so it happened, because Badhuis is now Javaplein's most charming hotspot, where you can enjoy a delicious brunch—indoors or on the spacious terrace. And while you're there, go for the tuna sandwich Niçoise.

The interior is simply stunning! The menu features delicious brunch dishes like eggs Benedict, steak tartare, and more. Want to stick around for drinks after brunch? Then Le French Café is definitely the place to be. The appetizer menu is so delicious, you might even skip the main course for dinner.

Turbo

A sister of De Tros (see below) and a fine addition to Amsterdam East: TurboTurbo Amsterdam is a nod to the owners' favorite car: the Saab Turbo. Sadly, it's no longer produced, but Turbo Amsterdam is vibrant and modern. This place is a hangout spot where you'd love to spend the whole day. Luckily, you can, because they serve coffee, brunch, snacks, and dinner. Their unique and culinary croquette sandwich is a must.

The Tros

Neighborhood café De Tros is a true all-rounder; from noon onward, you'll want to stick around until late at night. And we share that opinion with many others, because De Tros is always pleasantly busy. Their coffee is the best in the area, and the brunch dishes are just as good. The steak tartare is a hit, but also try the asparagus with beurre noisette.

Just back from Catalonia and I thought: I'll share some tips right away. During our road trip, we stayed two nights in the Ebro Delta. An incredibly fun stop for families and foodies alike, where there is plenty to do. · A boat trip to the Musclarium is a must! Here you eat oysters and mussels straight from the farm, in the middle of the sea. · Admire the flamingos and black ibises that can be found here all year round. · Rice is grown in the Ebro Delta all year round. For paella, but Kensho also makes sake and miso from it! You can visit them during a tasting. · Cycling along the rice fields, canoeing on the Ebro River, and visiting various beaches. It was still a bit too cold now, but there is plenty to do. · The towns are very low-key and not that exciting, but you can find fantastic local food there. From the Michelin-awarded Les Moles* to local eateries like Vermuteria Bonmarisc and Lo Tinglado. We ate a lot of fish, but also anemone fritters (a first!). Now back to work, and I’m going to create an extensive travel guide of this road trip through Catalonia, but you’ll want to save these tips for a future adventure. ✖️✖️✖️ 🖊️ @anne_de_buck { In this post, I share tips for the Ebro Delta in Spain (Delta de l'Ebre).
