Brunch is always a good idea, right? Because brunch basically means a nice, late, and deliciously extensive breakfast. Often preceded by a good lie-in, it's a popular Sunday activity. So, here's a great list for the weekend: 16 x the most delicious brunch in Amsterdam Oost!

Discover the tastiest spots for brunch in Amsterdam East

Breman Brasserie

Our city's second Hoxton Hotel houses Breman Brasserie, where you can enjoy brunch like you're not used to in the Netherlands. Think quinoa granola, a BB croque madame, smashed avocado toast, butter waffles with fruit compote, or wild mushrooms with a scrambled egg. You'd love to order everything and fill the table with it.

Leo

Leo Amsterdam is the new, cozy brown café in Amsterdam East, on Beukenplein. From early morning until late at night, this will be your second home in East, mark our words. Bistro Leo is the perfect way to start your day with a good cup of coffee or a leisurely brunch (or both, of course). For lunch, you can choose from a variety of sandwiches and lunch dishes like burrata with watermelon and classics like steak tartare.

Bathhouse

Before opening their doors earlier this year, the owners asked local residents what they hoped the renovated Badhuis would become, and most agreed: a place that represents connection. In whatever form that takes: from communal game nights to music programming, to an "extension of your living room." And so it happened, because Badhuis is now Javaplein's most charming hotspot, where you can enjoy a delicious brunch—indoors or on the spacious terrace. And while you're there, go for the tuna sandwich Niçoise.

Ode to the Amstel

Looking for a delicious waterfront dining experience in Oost? Then head to Ode aan de Amstel. Located where Riva used to be, they now offer an affordable all-day menu. Prefer to go all-out with multiple courses? Choose the chef's menu! They're open daily from 11:00 AM for lunch, and on Sundays, they also offer a delicious Sunday Brunch.

Le French Café

In the always lively and bustling Javastraat, you can visit Le French Café all day long. A modern French bistro with a menu packed with the best of France, it'll make you feel like you're in Paris. The interior is simply stunning! The menu features delicious brunch dishes like eggs Benedict, steak tartare, and more. Want to stick around for drinks after brunch? Then Le French Café is definitely the place to be. The appetizer menu is so delicious, you might even skip the main course for dinner.

Turbo

A sister of De Tros (see below) and a fine addition to Amsterdam East: TurboTurbo Amsterdam is a nod to the owners' favorite car: the Saab Turbo. Sadly, it's no longer produced, but Turbo Amsterdam is vibrant and modern. This place is a hangout spot where you'd love to spend the whole day. Luckily, you can, because they serve coffee, brunch, snacks, and dinner. Their unique and culinary croquette sandwich is a must.

The Tros

Neighborhood café De Tros is a true all-rounder; from noon onward, you'll want to stick around until late at night. And we share that opinion with many others, because De Tros is always pleasantly busy. Their coffee is the best in the area, and the brunch dishes are just as good. The steak tartare is a hit, but also try the asparagus with beurre noisette.

The Cottage is a well-known name in East and the surrounding area, as few places are as relaxed and good as this one. They've since expanded to include a deli for takeaways of their delicious recipes and ingredients, but you can also enjoy brunch at their restaurant. The scones are a hit, and the avocado toast is also delicious. It's also a great place to go with kids!

And that just happens to be the roots of chef Angelo Kremmydas, who is also at the helm of the popular Gitane. He had Amsterdam West Already acquainted with the special flavours from his country of origin, now it is the East's turn.

𝗔𝗡𝗧𝗪𝗘𝗥𝗣𝗘𝗡 𝗚𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗔𝗪𝗔𝗬 👀 This is the coolest new hotel for a night away! Meet @viaantwerp , the newest boutique hotel in Antwerp on the border of Zurenborg and Borgerhout (yep, voted 2nd coolest neighborhood in the world by Time Out). I recently stayed at this gem and this hotel really has it all: a lively bar with a cozy atmosphere, walls full of creative art, beautiful bright rooms and it's within walking distance of great hotspots. And I haven't even mentioned @mea.antwerp! The delicious restaurant with a chef behind the pans who previously cooked at The Palomar in London. If you know, you know! And now the best news: I can surprise one of you with a dream night away at VIA Antwerp. 💛 𝗪𝗔𝗧 𝗝𝗘 𝗞𝗨𝗡𝗧 𝗪𝗜𝗡𝗡𝗘𝗡 • Overnight stay for 2 people • Breakfast included • Chef's dinner at MEA 𝗭𝗢 𝗠𝗔𝗔𝗞 𝗝𝗘 𝗞𝗔𝗡𝗦 • Let us know in the comments which friend you would like to stay here with • Of course, also take a look at @viaantwerp & @mea.antwerp to dream away and follow their updates The winner will be notified personally via DM on December 10th. Think twinkling lights, mulled wine, food stalls, live music, unique gifts and lots of Christmas vibes all December long. Whether you're planning a festive day with the fam or friends, or just want to soak up that holiday spirit. These are the markets in Amsterdam to put on your calendar now. 🎄✨ 𝘿𝙧𝙤𝙥 “𝘾𝙃𝙍𝙄𝙎𝙏𝙈𝘼𝙎𝙈𝘼𝙍𝙆𝙀𝙏” 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙄'𝙡𝙡 𝙨𝙚𝙣𝙙 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝗮 𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝙔𝙇𝘽𝘽-𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙗𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝘾𝙝𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙢𝙖𝙨 𝙢𝙖𝙧𝙠𝙚𝙩𝙨. HOME ALONE 4 INCOMING 😅 My trip to NYC ends in a bad (Christmas) movie when the hotel gives my carry-on with my passport to an old lady who doesn't realize it and checks it in for a flight to the UK! Now I'm stuck here in NY without my passport, and I've missed my flight. I've experienced a lot in all the years I've been traveling for Your Little Black Book, but this is a first 😅. This chat video is purely therapeutic in nature 🤣🤣🤣. Because really: HOW?! 🫢 Note to self: better to take my passport with me all day, instead of leaving it 'safely' in the hotel apparently... and from now on, suitcases should be tied together with a cable in the storage room. Even if you're in a luxurious and expensive hotel, everything is still human work. Now I'm stuck in one of the nicest cities in the world, but of course I just want to be home with Manuel as planned. 😔 To be continued 🧳✈️ And thanks for all the sweet DMs ❤️❤️❤️❤️ ✖️✖️✖️ Anne
And do you also have a nice garden? I want to thank you for your patience and help. 𝟳-𝗷𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲! This time we went to @williams.farmhouse one of my favorites for lunch in Amsterdam Oud-Zuid. But is this also fun during the day with kids? We ordered a 'plain' version of the Farmhouse burger 🍔: yes, really just meat + cheese 🤣… and together with the fries it was a mega success. Child happy, us happy… and it was such a cozy, rainy afternoon. I mean this interior, I immediately dream away to the Cotswolds again!
