home brewn beers on tap at brewery de praelย Amsterdam
In the narrow alley ways of the Red Light District is where you find Brewery de Prael. A hidden gem with a sparkly coziness. With the vintage furniture it seems like one big snug living room, where you will feel instantly at home.ย Extra nice: from the tasting room you can see the handcrafted brewery. And it’s that beer that you can taste at de Prael. They only serveย you a beer from their own brewery. What makes the tasting room of de Prael different then others is their extensive and diverse menu. Full with good snacks, because that is what tastes best with a good glass of beer. The dinner menu will surprise you! With a variety of dishes from ‘grandmothers pot roast’, ‘Fish & Chips’ to ‘pasta vongole’. Sounds alright, doesn’t it?
Lazy Sunday at Brewery de Prael
Even though not everything at de Praelย is about the beer. On a lazy Sunday we bumped into brewer Fer Kok and he told us about the golden combination of working with people and with beer. Thirteen years ago he started up theย brewery and he combined the brewing process with working with people. One person works there 7 days a week, and someone else only for 7 minutes a day. But everyone is part of the big family, something you notice in theย easy goingย vibe. Secretly I’m always curios where the Amsterdam brewers like to drink their beer when they have a day off. Fer likes to go to ‘In de Wildeman’ and ‘Bar Joost’ where they have a wide selection of beers on the menu.ย But… on Fridays he likes to drink his own beer in his own tasting room!
